Like I said I really have Tried everything and its not in my library , I have the Email that says I was sent the gift but no gift .

It has happened to me when a friend gifted me Orcs Must Die! If I am understanding you correctly, all you need to do is just wait. Steam is getting overloaded and your gift will eventually appear.

There are people who have waited for over three years to get Steam Gifts when the system bugs out, you pretty much need to contact support or you could be waiting this long too. Try clicking on the little envelope at the top of the Steam Window (by the default minimize, maximize and close buttons).

Whenever I unpacked a gift the item would be bugged in my inventory til another trade, but it'd still be on my game list. Sorry can't really help.. uh On the steam client click your profile name to go to your account history. See if you have that game listed there as a Gift/Guest Pass.

Ok so Im really Astounded here on my Account it doesn't even list Magicka but I swear I have a Damn email saying ive been sent the gift :/ ... I dont know WTF is Going on ... Ill talk to me Friend ...

I think That there might me sort of blockage from steam cos my friend lives in Hong Kong and I just read that there is no relation between the Game and my Steam profile so I think Only support can help me from here onwards but thank you and everyone els for the Help and Input . :)

well i was trading someone yesterday coal for hl 1 and we both got tade history entries, his saying it got sent and it disappeared from his inventory and mine saying just the coal was sent. i never got the game, he never got the coal. the game is out of his inventory, the coal is still in mine. been well close to almost a day with no response to our support tickets or resolution.
seems to be a common problem with the servers being overloaded

Have you tried going to the "games" in the top bar of your steam client, and then press "Manage gifts" or something like that, then maybe it will be there?

LOL have really tried everything that I can possibly do (including checking gift manager) thanks dude but I think Im not gonna get a chance to play magicka since my copy was eaten by steam :/ lol

I would wait till Steam Support replies(since the sales are up you'll probably have to wait about 4 days before you'll get a reply). I really have no idea what went wrong. Did the friend buy the game or got it for free? If he bought it then the gift was maybe revoked. :S

Hey guys and girls. I was Gifted a copy of Magicka yesterday and after clicking Open and Add to library it just vanished. I have no Idea what happened Ive also done everything possible to try get my precious gift back with no luck (Email retrieval,Check Inventory,Wait 12 hours encase Inventory is glitched,contacted support with no reply in the last 10 hours) If any of you have any news that could help me I would be forever grateful .
