+1 to the whole idea. As Himohillo says, in July you can sell any object (beta invitation, dota 2, etc) with a price similar to your foil. But you have to know that steam will take its 15% of every trade (1st when your friend sells the foil, 2nd when you sell your object in order to get your money back).
So if it's worth like 14$, your friend will get 11'9$, and finally you'll get 10'11$

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the trading cards can be traded outside of the Steam Market.
Steam wants to maximise its profits from the trading cards.
, Edit:Or is the gift option for trading cards just not available to me due to my account not being old enough?

I can't use Steam's trading functionality as well due to my account's age.

I thought foils didn't start dropping until you were level 10? How'd you manage to get a foil on an account that's so new?
[edit]: Hmm, I can't seem to find anything in the FAQ about it. I swear I remember reading that at some point, might have been something they did away with very early in the update.

That would mean Valve made something just for gamers, not for money, which would be first in a long time, because now there's no reason to buy cards for those under level 10.
Less people buying cards - less money for Valve.
Unless there's just not enough foils on a market, so people don't buy them for $300 to get level 5 badge...

Cards that are useless unless you buy rest of them (unless you're lucky enough to trade other sets), remember that.
And good that you mentioned selling them for profit - since every sold card is not only profit for seller, but ALSO for Valve - they still have money in mind.

use the card swap bot to swap it for some keys and ref

Daily reminder that this bot is actually ripping people off by asking for additional fees, even if you try to swap within the same game and it has more than enough copy of the card you're asking for. If you want to use a fair card exchange bot, I'd recommend this one.

Update:
Looks like I am able to trade them after all, it is only games that I am unable to trade yet. Trading of cards and other items are not restricted.
Also, I got another foil card :D
Gonna sell them on SteamTrades for TF2 Keys.

I just got the Mothership foil card from Really Big Sky but can't sell it just because my Steam account isn't old enough.
The current price range on the Steam Market is $10 - $20, it would probably drop quite a bit by the time I'm able to sell it (5th July).
Fuuuuu- :(
