They should have dropped the series loong time ago, I enjoyed the games on the PS2 and even Warriors Orochi, the crossover with Samurai Warriors, but it turned to a cash cow, maybe it's time to move on and work on other projects ? It is just the same formula, story, and gameplay in every game. Even the most hardcore fans are bound to lose interest. I like the "Three Kingdoms Era", but the two-buttons brainless hacking and slashing gets old really quick.

I never understood the appeal of those games. I mean you can literally put the controller down standing in the middle of a horde of enemies and they will dance around you but barely attack you, let alone do damage :D
They even ported the same gameplay to other franchises like One Piece, Zelda or apparently Gundam.
