aww come on now, that's like calling west side story a remake of romeo and juliet - heavily based on, but not a copy QQ

It's a remake of The Seven Samurai which was also a movie where as West Side Story was a musical and Romeo & Juliet a play.

I love Seven Samurai, but I think of Magnificent Seven as more of a re-imagining than an actual remake. My problem with this new version is that it drops the central idea of a warrior class helping out the peasant class. Without that, it's just not even a remake. At least that's the impression that I am getting from trailers - maybe I got that wrong.

The reviews said it was mediocre at best, even Washington and Pratt couldn't save it. :X
I'll probably wait for the Blu-Ray. Sad, I kinda had high hopes for this one.

I thought Warcraft was awful .... to each his own, though. :X

I guess it depends on the expectations. Mine are always super low for video game adaptions and thus Warcraft even managed to be an almost pleasant surprise.

I share your thoughts on the magnificent seven though. I'll probably enjoy it, but I'll wait till it is ready for my home cinema.

I haven't seen it yet. Though I had felt like Guardians of the Galaxy might've been kinda overly childish, I really loved the movie and Chris Pratt's acting. Any expensive production that is a cool Western is bound to be pretty good!

Won't go to see it but I'll watch it later on. Not too thrilled a certain casting choice, but it looks fun and Westerns will always get a chance from me.

I'll eventually see it when it comes to streaming/tv.
Saw the predecessor on VHS ;)
I don't expect much but if it doesn't use the usual tropes as if the viewer is stupid (here's looking at you The Walking Dead) then that will do.
