Do you think humble bundle will comeback with best bundles (AAA Indie...) or IGN killed it ?
No game bundle today for sure. If there's a game bundle today, I will do another giveaway.
you will keep doing giveaways every month
Can't see a problem with this.
not sure if this is better than nothing.
hahaha my same thought XD
Wow, all of tier 1 games were freebies
Well, HB could have gone a different route, especially for New Year's Day. What does this foreshadow for the coming rest of the year? :)
Throwing my bet for Awesome games. Done Quick 2019 bundle
...or IGN killed it as well :p
Any fantasies for today?
Fantasies and the wildest of them are in Guess Humble Monthly Games thread, while here it's quite the opposite, mostly hopelessly pessimistic stuff :)
I'm leaning toward a Best Of 2018 bundle.
Here's the contents for Best of 2017 bundle for those interested
T1 - Five Nights At Freddys: Sister Location, Goat Simulator, and Hacknet
T2(BTA) - Verdun, Sins of the Solar Empire: Rebellion, Death Road To Canada, and Turmoil
T3 - Dead By Daylight
EIDT: It was a pretty easy guess and I'm pretty sure that this is coming whether it be today or in the next couple weeks. So what games that were in HB bundles in 2018 do you think will be in the Best Of 2018 bundle?
I remember the 2017 bundle because I don't think the word 'best' has ever been more inappropriately used ;)
lol I thought a there were a lot of better options for sure that year but that's what we got. I can't say that they were bad games though just far from the best in my opinion :)
Poor Hacknet was bundle beaten to death and thrown out for free.
Agreed. Not bad, but certainly not the best. Hacknet was one of the better games :)
then they'll surpass themselves by re-releasing the best of 2017 again this year and renaming it best of 2018.
Or just put softwares in the best of 2018
If it's a 'Best of 2018 Software Bundle' at least they'll have plenty to choose from ;)
This bundle would be so horrible but at the same time is a very realistic list.
I'd welcome a "Best of 2009, 10 years later"
T1 - Left for Dead 2, Borderlands, Plants vs. Zombies
BTA - Dragon Age: Origins, Resident Evil 5, Mirror's Edge, Machinarium
T3 - Assassin's Creed II, Street Fighter IV
I'm going to lean towards this again :)
No game bundle today or else, another giveaway from me.
And if there's a bundle I'll probably do a giveaway with some game from it.
I'm thinking the reveal of Nintendo titles on HB store may bring us another Nintendo bundle sometime soon
Nintendo titles are US only.
True. Still they've done it before
Oh, I didn't know that.
Heard through the grapevine there have been 2. The one I got had some good indie titles
Hmm. I will make a guess that there will be no good bundles this year!
You like to play safe eh?
2 down, 50 to go?
Don't forget to subtract the weeks without bundle, 40 to go (more or less) XD
Probably a Nintendo bundle.
HumbleBundle now is selling Nintendo games :o
To the US only, so that’s a 100% no unless they want to piss off everybody
Well, they have had multiple Americas only bundles. The PlayStation bundles and the first bundle for nintendo consoles were region locked.
0% chance for an actual Nintendo bundle, that's just not them.
Will there be a Humble Sale anytime soon? Have the $5 store coupon from Jan Unlock to expire on Feb 1st. Thinking of buying Disgaea PC: Digital Dood Edition if there wont be any sale coming.
Idk. Cheers, TFX~
I think that buying anything "resets" your store credit expiry (at least if you have Monthly active). So you might buy something really cheap like Orbt XL to reset it.
There probably won't be a full big sale, but sometimes there are publisher sales (Square Enix sale etc) on a weekly basis. This type is likely.
It is a $5 Store coupon. Not a wallet credit, so I doubt spending anything will reset the expiry date.
It's a one time purchase that gives no leftover credit.
Indeed like @kivine pointed out, its a coupon not credit, My Bad. Yes, thank you for the tip too. <3
That's a great game, I'd get it with that credit. And I actually already did exactly what you are currently deciding on :)
If you decide not to get Disgaea, Phantom Brave looks like it would be worth picking up.
I just got that but wound up getting Divinity Original Sin 2 during the sale so been playing that instead. I think I still have a sealed copy of it for PS2.
I have a copy of it for the PS2 as well not sealed though. If you are every looking to sell that there's plenty of collectors who would jump on it.
I actually am looking into Disgaea or Phantom Brave. Disgaea's graphic is more appealing to me. Did you play both games or read which has better gameplay?
I am from South East Asia, I also do not understand why they charge me $0.50 more than the $5.37 listed. Same thing happened for you? I know my country is pending on a tax similar to VAT but I dont think its applied already, price conversion? Yeah, it seems this coupon has price conversion which sucks. It means its not the $5 coupon as *advertised.
Regards and Cheers~
You are getting $5 off the price of the game before your Monthly Subscriber discount is applied. There's no VAT being applied.
It makes sense business wise. Thanks ^_^
I've never played Phantom Brave before, I've only played Disgaea back on my Playstation 2.
And as far as pricing goes I believe it's what Alphabetsoup said below.
I'll go with Disgaea then. Thank you for the replies! :D
You're welcome. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I have.
I just bought Disgaea PC, I'm not a console player and I did not play many RPGs. Not a big RPG fan but a Strategy Game Fan. Still I can see elements that I'll enjoy. I have been collecting JRPGs from last year, hopefully when I start playing them, I'll enjoy them as much as you hope for! ^__^ Cheerios~
Disgaea isn't like the normal older console RPG/JRPG like Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy and ChronoTrigger. Phantom Brave would be like those titles. Disgaea is a Tactics RPG and is a lot more like Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics. There's a lot to Disgaea as you will see when you play.
Here's some other titles on Steam that are Tactics RPGs that might be worth checking out.
Fell Seal: Arbiters Mark
Sword Legacy Omen
Children of Zodiarcs
Tactical RPGs work fine with me. I am unfamiliar with JRPGs apart from watching a friend played FF7 before but it didnt interest me. Watching more streams nowadays so I can get into the RPG genre more. I previously liked Advance Wars when I saw it, if only they came to PC. Also interested in knowing Fire Emblem.
I have Fell Seal: Arbiters Mark and Children of Zodiarcs wishlisted. I am following Sword Legacy Omen before it released as it seems to be Banner Saga liked game. I actually ignored Arcadian Atlas I do not know why, probably it looked like a RPG Maker game or they updated their store page since then, I am now following that title. I was chatting in Fanatical Discord and Himeko Sutori came up. Worth checking out and its coming out soon if you hasn't caught up on it. Cheers~ ^_^
If I'm not mistaken the videos on the Store page for Arcadian Atlas are from the kickstarter campaign 2 years ago. It seems they are still in really early development. It might be worth "following" the game, that's what I've been doing.
I started following Himeko Sutori the other day and it looks pretty good. If I remembered it I would of also listed it with the others.
On the plus side, they made sure to send another email with the Stardock bundle in it that I still don't want. :P

As I look at the non monthlies, I see that 2018 was a very good year. Dystopian bundle, Jumblo 11, Indie 19, Strategy, Staff Picks Scribble, Mobile 22, Sekai, Classics Return, Brawler, plus more than a few of the book and software bundles. I'm well pleased with more than a couple of the bundles they offered in 2018.
Plus, they let you gorge on freebies as well.
I always find it amusing that people act like quality is determined by how well it corresponds to what is already in their Steam libraries. If only Humble would just consult each and every one of you to make sure they don't have games in bundles that are already in your individual libraries, eh?
There are good bundles and bad bundles, personally i don't take a bundle as bad if i already have the game on my library.
The only bundle i bought at HB in 2018 (out from monthly) was Humble Indie Bundle 19.
Jah. If I'm being honest, it's my thought that there is no such thing as a good bundle, but as far as the quality of games in them goes, I find the negative bias tends to be directly related to what people already owned before the bundle released, generally speaking. Plus the unthinking "everybody hates IGN, so I must as well even though I have no idea what it is I'm actually railing against" mentality of course.
Well, that is a tastes thing i guess XD.
Some people take the bundle is good or bad for the retail prices of the games, and other about the subjective quality.
Sports Bundle too.
Motorsport Manager at BTA (4,46$) was fantastic.
Yep. Typically, I think they offer quality bundles and this is, of course, independent of whether people have them or not.
Hm,maybe new one today?
On one hand Stardock ends today and they'll have no game bundle if they don't post anything.
But their Winter Sale is on. Maybe they don't want to distract from the winter sale.
Or the opposite - they might post a bundle today to attract more people to the sale. I believe they did something like this few times now - New bundle with only the base games and big sale on DLCs for those games on their store.
It seems that last January/February was very starved for decent bundles: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YLMhyfrgUmR2CfLwqMGLHuGy1LOrUEC2xY4ZxPLHCz8/edit#gid=1841986736
Oh, I didn't knew that spreadsheet existed. It's very useful, thanks a lot!
I agree with you, a game bundle but nothing attractive enough. Would be interesting if they put out a good bundle when they are trying to push their store sales which seems to be the focus nowadays. Cheers~
Going into this with an uncharacteristic optimism:
A switch bundle. With games available worldwide. Tier 1 is some cheaper ( but still good ) indie eshop titles, like One Strike, Astro Bears, that sort of thing.
Tier 2 will escalate full speed, landing right into Battlechasers, Steamworld, Dead Cells etc
Tier 3, will be £/$50, but will have Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and the surprise release of Animal Crossing.
yeah sure ... there were some Nintendo bundles but there will never be first party game in it. Only third party games that are on PC too. Also NA purchase only most likely. Get ready for games like Sonic, Shantae, indie puzzles etc. with highest tier - Snipperclips (which is a great game) for like 30 dollars.
There might be a Switch bundle one day but knowing Nintendo your premise for Tier 3 is implausible.
It'll also come with all LABO kits, mailed to your house, next day delivery.
Can get non-overpriced cardboard by ordering free shipping supplies from the US Postal Service ;)
