If it is a jumble of characters count them. If it consists of five letters/numbers than it probably refers to a giveaway link like http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/12345/ . If it consists of eight letters/numbers than it often refers to Itstoohard puzzles

Yeah, the most common way to make a puzzle is to hide the 5-character code somewhere.
you just put them in the link for a giveaway: www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/?????/
Other ways to hide a puzzle:
- A link hidden in a dot or comma like this .
- A code hidden in the first letters of 5 lines or sentences
- In the source code: Right-click and press "view page source"

i have often problems understanding puzzles - i cant even find them? There is often a text like "Enjoy this small puzzle for now cehgL..." but what should i do with such a text - is there a special puzzle-site i even dont know ?
