Your first mistake was trading. Barter is for pagans.

Rough translation:
Trading is not always good. Trading is only for people with religious beliefs.
To translate further: Religious beliefs could be worshiping the value of an object, thus over estimating the value.

I see your point, you chose definition 3. I probably fit in there too. However, my point still stands with definition 4.
EDIT: There's nothing wrong with religious beliefs, he's probably just making a point on how we value material objects.

Sorry to hear. I'm just curious, what did you trade for bulletstorm?

Yea, it was for $2.5 in Russia. But almost everything is cheaper there, so it doesn't matter if you're trading it. Although some people buys the games from them (they send the money to a Russian that buys it to them), but that's just exploiting the Steam Store...

I think it's more what you value the game at. Did you want Bulletstorm? Trading can be unfair cause there are con-men galore. I only trade for stuff I want to keep and I base value on how badly I want the game.

In my opinion it would be a bad trade anyway, so don't worry.
So... When I came on ST, I saw that many people wanted HIB#2 and I knew one guy still selling it for 5$. So I bought few copies thinking "Hey, these games are worth over 100$, I'm sure someone will offer something worth more than 5$". No one wanted to trade, always saying I bought it for 1 cent so they can give me one buck... Finally I somehow got rid of it not loosing that much. Well, you learn your whole life.

Next time check this Steamprices.com
And also check prices in different regions, for example: a few weeks ago there was Dead Space sale, 5$ in US and 2,5€ in EU.

Traded something worth $20-$30 for Bulletstorm thinking it was a fair trade, and then someone tells me that Bulletstorm was priced at $2.50 at one point of time.
Shit like this.
Solution: Click on the . in "$2.50".
