Is crafting badges on holiday sales still a thing?

I remember long back crafting badges on holiday sales will reward players with extra steam cards or something like that. Is this still a thing?

Yes, 7 days prior to the start of summer and winter sales.
Usually you can find [PSA] threads warning users that the mystery cards have begun dropping upon crafting badges.
