So I bought something and decided to return it by marking the package I received as return to sender. However, the seller moved after the item was shipped and is now located somewhere completely different. I didn't realize this in time and dropped off the package for return. Is there anything I can do to reroute the package, or did I just waste $35? Thanks. ;_;

The last status for the tracking number is delivered (to me) and stopped updating after I sent it for return.

If it's USPS (United States Postal Service), then when the guy moved he should have filled out a change of address form. USPS would automatically forward any mail to the new address for several months.

This. And if you're really paranoid, you can send a letter to the old address, too, explaining the situation and asking them to forward it just to be safe.

You bought something, then without consulting the seller decided to reject the package?

Pretty dumb move and will most likely result in a loss.

Yeah, that's not generally how you return merchandise. Even if the seller hadn't moved, that would have been problematic.

I asked to cancel the order and got a positive response, but the seller sent it anyway because of internal communication failure in the company. I opened a request to return the item and rejected the package the day it arrived by sending it back. Then the seller contacted me again saying that they moved and I need to make sure I send the item to the new address. ._.

If the cancellation was acknowledged and accepted, then you should have immediately received a refund. The item still being shipped is more than possible with a communication error, but that would obviously be their fault. You shouldn't have had to open a request to return because it should have been cancelled. You shouldn't have to pay to reship it to a new address because they shouldn't have shipped it in the first place.

You let them make mistakes, didn't push the issues and now it's costing you. If you had received your refund at first, then everything after would be of no concern to you.

I would be pretty frustrated if I were you, but I would have also handled it very different so here's to hoping it gets resolved!
