Can you guys give me some tips and strategies or something to sell cards and maximize profits, since all I managed to sell was 1 card for 0.02$, and the ones I listed for 1 cent below the market lowest didn't sell (been ~1 hour).
Thanks.

Why? Are not all people using their wallet funds in games?

during sales there is much more demand for cards that practically no one buys when game is not on sale, but cards also go lower in price.

Usually you get extra stuff for crafting badges during sales. Some people like me hoard cards for sales. Other people just buy lots of cards during sales. So that is the time to sell.

It gets even worse during sales. Thousands of people start buying games who aren't even interested in cards and just sell them asap, dropping the value even more.

Only thing i've noticed from card value during sales are... they hit rock bottom worthless, that would be the Best time to buy cards and even booster packs. Because everyone trying to get rid of there cards during that time from the cheap games they bought. Made well over 10 bucks like this. buy cheap sell high later. "PS: i had no supplement funds. i started with what i had which was just cards. so i used no money to get money." my skills comes from playing Eve Online which is no joke economy. Toughest game on earth. Teaches you valuable skills in life.

Cards just aren't really worth the effort of trying to earn a profit from. They rarely go above 10c in value unless they're from expensive games. You can try joining a card trading group like STC or CardTrades and look for people who want your cards as they'll be likely to offer you a higher value, but even then, the amount of time and effort it'd take just isn't worth it unless you're struggling to even afford bread for dinner.

Edit: Just checked, I've got 2069 cards worth €157. Might sound like a decent number, but 2k is the equivalent of 6 weeks worth of idling. That's doesn't even cover the electricity bill of having the computer on in the first place.

Not bread for dinner, but those occasional 0.19$ sales Steam has recently.

Just edited my original post to give an idea of how profitable cards are. I get that they could help with sales, but I'd recommend just putting them up for the minimum 3c if that's what your cards are worth and leaving it as is. The reason they take so long to sell is because of just how many 3c cards there are. They'll sell eventually. You COULD try getting in to the trading game, but like I said, it's a lengthy and tedious process.

Indeed, it does seem complex. And my laptop is on most of the time anyway.

Cards take a while to sell , waiting an hour is not much. If you have your card 1 cent cheaper then the rest then it will eventually sell.
Normally i match the lowest price if the game is not bundled or 1 cent lower in the case it is bundled at the moment.

Match lowest sell order on market (add a cent or two if it's a popular card, and supply at lowest price is low). Then, have patience. Accept the fact that funds from card selling are only trickles in the big picture, and the cards will be sold within days or weeks. If several weeks have passed with no result, check the listings again and verify that prices didn't suddenly drop permanently.
I'm not sure about the '(don't) sell during sales' tip, in my experience card prices tend to go up because demand from crafters increase more than supply from game buyers. But this depends on the game. Popular games tend to have card prices drop during sales because more people want to play the game than profit from cards, while less popular games attract card collectors more and so prices for cards go up. But if you just want decent profit, I think you should just sell the cards whenever you want to.

if you want to maximize profit, you shouldn't sell them so low priced! =P

if you want earn something you should take some time to look at the cards you have and their selling-in-time (don't know how to say). it also depends if you want money fast or if you can wait.

of course, during events and right after a game gets bundled, the number of cards sold from that game increase dramatically; problem is that their price drop.
it's up to you to find the right trade-off (for you) on when and how much sell your cards.
remember also that selling is not istantaneous, but it could take time. if a card is bought hundreds of times in a day, you'll have to wait little time (freshly bundled and most famous titles), in other cases you could have months to wait.

I'm not in a hurry, so I look at the general/monthly graph to find a nice price to set. it seems that the more cards a game has, the lower their price will be (most of times). I tend to not sell cards with a price too low, I keep them hoping their price will rise ;)

Also, if you're lucky, you could get a lot of foil cards and stack up money much faster!

Try to sell cards from non-bundled games first (or not-recently-bundled) 'cause their booster-drop is probably low and so there are less cards circulating.

Also, if you plan to sell a lot, I just discovered that you have a limit of 200 per year. if you want to sell more, you have to fill a module (something about US taxes)

Its nothing of consequence, unless you end up selling enough to make a whole lot of money.

more than $20000, it says.

But, from what I understood, the module is a must if you want to continue after the 200th.

Aye, but it just takes a moment. Even less if you're not a US citizen.

Sell them for the amount the lowest buy offer is asking for, they'll go within seconds of listing them.

2 Notes :

  1. Always Check " Volume " ( PIC #1 )
  2. Then Check " Quantity " ( PIC #2 )

( For example : this card had 24 sold in 24 hours and the top quantity is 2 in 0.12 CDN$ . That`s not bad if you want to sell this card, maybe in less than 12 hours your card sold in 0.12 CDN$ or you can set your card for higher price ( 0.13 CDN$ ) . )
