Crytek paying in-game money for positive Steam reviews

Crytek Turkey only, not the entire studio.

It's not even Crytek... From reddit: ''Well technically, Warface is not Crytek's anymore. They sold it to a Russian company (i don't remember the name) (Edit: i think it's my.com) but only Turkey region remained to Crytek Turkey. So i cannot blame entire company for this.''

Not the first to do that and surely not the last...

This is something to keep in mind:
There are software distributors in Turkey who'll happily register business names "<company> Turkey" and use that name to distribute the software of "<company>", thus piggybacking on the brand name.
Could very well be that "Crytek Turkey" is such a shell company/hijacked brand name.

Company I used to work for had something similar, which caused a real mess when the distributor started pulling shady stunts on their customers. Really nasty business involving misrepresentation, impersonation and defemation lawsuits, lots of money, and lots of unhappy people who didn't want our products anymore because the distributor poisoned the brand name. When I left a few years later they were still trying to rebuild their brand in Turkey.

If Crytek is in a similar situation, they should act quickly and publically disavow the distributor.

Meanwhile, anyone who disagrees with this practice and who can report the game on the Steam store for fraud probably should do so.

There is something inherently sad about that the descendants of one of the proudest and mightiest empire of modern history are readily and publicly whoring themselves out for fake money.
