I've photographed a few pieces from my boardgame collection. Can you guess where they are from? Question 2 might be a bit tricky to get right, so just copy-paste the complete name from Board Game Geek: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/

And as always, feel free to give this thread a bump.

edit Oh, and there are 4 giveaways up for entering if you are able to guess all the games.

Giveaway is over. For those who are curious, these were the games:
1: Space Hulk (3rd edition)
2: Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of Ashardalon
3: Cosmic Encounter (AH version)
4: Battle Cry 150th Civil war Anniversary Edition
5: Talisman (Revised 4th edition)
6: Illuminati: Deluxe Edition

I have no clue but I like your idea so I will hijack the thread for my little puzzle. The game is Warlock - Master of the Arcane that was given for free almost a year ago, so it's just a humble gift link. Hopefully it will work. If not... Well, no harm done.

Puzzle

Hint(not really): It's my favourite game.

So consider this a fancy bump.

Ah, so that's what DiXit looks like! I've heard the folks over at the Dice Tower talk about it, but it has apparently gone out of print :(

FYI, for #6, it appears that you want the name of the game, not the name of the book. The hint kind of made it seem like you wanted the name of the book.

To be fair, in all other cases you wanted the game...it's just that the hint threw me for a sec.
Also, I have and love that game-- I have my version from 1988.

Nice puzzle, and a nice collection of games.
Q4 was definitely the toughest for me. Between your hints and the pictures I at least had an idea for all the others but I'd never heard of that one.

Then it's sure you have played Q3 because I don't have idea what I'm looking at xDD

The rule system that it utilizes is quite popular, but this particular game does not seem to get nearly as much love as the other ones using it. Understandable though, it's the worst of the lot (That's not to say that it's bad, mind you, I've got many hours of fun out of my copy, just that the other ones are better).

Ok, I have found something very similar to Q3. I will try games from the same company...

People seem to have trouble with Q3. The fact that they "stack" is very important. The current day models look nothing like these, and even though, from what I've heard, the current edition is better, people are still looking for the edition that I have because they find the models to be better. The game itself is actually quite famous & popular.

I did by the way make a thread showing of my boardgame collection a while ago. That collection has since grown a bit, but there might still be some hints in there...

Game 5 isn't that hard or bad, great board game for getting people into trying tabletop pen & paper rpgs.

I just don't like the fact that it never ends. An earlier edition of it (I think it was 3rd edition) was one of my earlier boardgames outside of the basic staples like Monopoly, and I did not like it back then either. If I were to introduce someone to board games today, I would probably go for something like Caylus: Magna Carta, game number 3 in the quiz or Arkham Horror (because of the cooperative aspect. Even though Arkham is rather rules heavy for what it is, a new player can still play it without feeling outclassed). I think Game number 2 would work as an entrypoint for people who are into similar computer games (not played it yet though, I got it yesterday), or for any WW2 strategy nutter, Conflict of Heroes or Memoir '44 could also work.

Yep, it's very easy to learn, anyone can play it. Best for the beginners, but definitely not the best overall :)

Got Q3 ... only one so far. Lol...

Look for the older thread the OP talked about for a few hints on most of these. ;)

Okay... now stuck on Q5 & Q1.

Okay... done with Q5. Really had to think outside the box for that one; especially since its a computer game these days too, and seen pretty often in recent bundles

All Done! Finally ~.^

I think a small bump might be in order. Currently, anyone who manage to guess all the games has a pretty good chance of winning at least one game.

Bump for solved. That Q3 was giving me tons of trouble. I overlooked it on the lists of stackable boardgames I went through because of how different the game pieces are nowadays (yes, I know you mentioned it in the hint). I can understand why collectors would want the original pieces though. :) I like boardgames, but that's the only one I've never heard of before.

The game has actually been around for quite some time (since the 70's). Originally it just had tiny coloured discs though.

And I can highly recommend checking it out. I have a decent enough board game collection, and this game still sees a lot of play.
