Updated post for Humble choice January 2025 games. Am I missing anything? I tend not to buy smaller bundles much anymore.

A redemption deadline was retroactively added to Demon Turf from March 2023 for August 5, 2025 at 11:00:00 AM PDT.

Updated. Thanks for letting me know since I skipped this bundle.

Did you receive an email about the retroactive expiration, or does it show as expiring on that date on the Humble Choice page?

I didn't get an email. Just saw the expiration added when going through my redemption pages.

I don't see Demon's Turf as having an expiration date. It looks like Hero's Hour also no longer has an expiration warning on the Humble Choice page:
https://www.humblebundle.com/membership/march-2023
Can anyone confirm? Do these no longer have expirations? I received an email for Hero's Hour, but not for Demon's Turf. How did you find out about Demon's Turf expiration?

Check the comment right above yours. usshadowop directly above you commented that there was a retroactive deadline for Demon's Turf.
I do not have access to that bundle, so if they are wrong I will fix them. Can more people who have these bundles in their backlog check?

Ah, I missed their comment. I didn't get an email about a deadline for Demon's Turf, and don't see any indication on the Humble Choice page about an expiration on either key now (Hero's Hour or Demon's Turf), even though I received an expiration notice about Hero's Hour.

What a weird set of circumstances. Thanks for the info.

I do not see a deadline for either Demon Turf or Hero's Hour on the website. I got an email notification for Hero's Hour though, about two months ago.
However, when I go to reveal a key for Hero's Hour, I get the message "Keys are temporarily exhausted for this product. As soon as we receive more keys, we will add them to this page and send you an email."
I contacted support about this as I have been trying to reveal a key for about a month. They confirmed that they will not be able to restock the keys. Quite disappointing.

Side Note: some games seem only removed from the page, not necessarily expired? I don't have the keys to check if they are actually expired and not just removed from the page...
Milky Way Prince - The Vampire Star & DESOLATE from June 2021 Choice both have this message below them
Oops! This game key is no longer available.
It has been over 3 years since purchase, exceeding our[ terms of service.](https://www.humblebundle.com/terms)
Search for 3 years in the terms and that's where they say you must redeem within that window or they are under no obligation to give keys.

Just saw a discussion about this on reddit, here is the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/humblebundles/comments/1ioau0t/humble_expiring_keys_instead_of_replenishing/
Seems like Humble made a sudden update to their ToCs in Dec 2024 (?) without any notice about not replenishing out of stock keys over 3 years since purchase... I'm quite worried about this as I still have unredeemed keys from years ago. Still checking through my backlog...

Confirming that I've also ran into this issue.. Already found quite a few keys that can no longer be redeemed.. Will update as I go...

Seriously, this is very disappointing... there were never any notice about these games going to be made expired after 3 years at all, and it was certainly not in HB's terms of service to expire them when these purchases were made.

Yeah, very disappointing. I've slowly been working through my old keys and just noticed them last night. I checked that reddit post and it seems like that list of keys is mostly from Choice only. I guess I will work on adding them to the table later this weekend when the dust settles.

More games with the message about exceeding 3 years:
Games at risk of being expired by the new TOS (out of stock but no message yet):
Games with no message, and no button to redeem key:
Games (already) expired with deadline added at a later date - without warning:

I wrote to HB and publisher and both refuse to provide more key for this bundle
Damn, that's crazy. People should seriously consider some kind of lawsuit against these publishers too (if they don't end up providing keys/legitimate compensation in the end). That could work better, because the average publisher probably has way less money than the investment group who owns Humble Bundle (Ziff Davis).
From the publisher's perspective:
We're a publisher and regret our game being devalued from excess keys on the market after we made a ton of money participating in a bundle, therefore we want to retroactively revoke keys that were not marketed with an expiration date.
From Humble Bundle's perspective:
We want to sell more games and bundles, so reducing the key supply is a win-win scenario.
In any other industry, this behavior could land people in jail, but it seems like they think it's different because these are digital products that have historically been marketed towards kids. The issue for them is that a lot of these "kids" have grown up and don't take kindly to this kind of fraudulent behavior.
Realistically, this situation could be the result of a few things:
A corrupt backroom deal between Humble Bundle and the publisher to revoke keys and increase a game's value by decreasing the supply of secondhand keys (providing Humble Bundle with compensation)
Humble Bundle never actually had the keys to begin with (even though they sold the keys). This is less likely, because people have reported that their revealed keys were unrevealed, meaning Humble Bundle had the keys, but then revoked them/gave them back to the publisher so they could reduce the supply of keys on the market.
To make matters worse, I see some on Reddit defending this behavior, meaning Humble Bundle/Ziff Davis may have bot accounts to influence opinion e.g. "why did you wait so long, it's your fault" etc. victim blaming, as if it's okay to revoke purchased keys that haven't been activated. Imagine if Valve was just like "too many people bought this game on sale, so we're going to revoke it on a lot of people's Steam accounts so they have to re-buy it at a higher price."

Well, there's the whole history about this, but a bunch of stuffs leading to Steam tightening policy on key generation (back then, there were people generating 100k of keys of shovelware to giveaway and make profit on market), and this leads to publisher getting their hands tied when they want to generate a large amount of keys for bundle, especially for games that have modest sale on Steam compared to the bundles sold.
HB's design is such that keys are not assigned on purchase, and only assigned when user redeems it. This allows them to offer bundles uninterrupted for the entire duration, and add more keys later if needed. It was fine back then, but with the change in key generation policy, this is no longer guaranteed.
I read a bunch of discussion regarding this, can't remember where, but it's said that Steam doesn't like it when publisher requests more keys when the previously generated keys are not activated. They forces publisher to deactivate unused keys first before generating more, which leads to a bunch of keys having a redemption deadline now.
Regarding keys revealed before the change but replaced by the message, your key is still reflected in the response from the API, but no longer displayed, probably to prevent you from complaining if the key got deactivated by dev/publisher.

Well, then it looks like there's blame to go around. Regardless, I don't think it' asking the world of publishers to honor giving keys to people who bought bundles with their game in it. It's not like this is a grey market scam or anything, it's literally a bundle they willingly participated in.
I still think the best way to go about this is to threaten class action lawsuits against publishers, since many of them are small, and their stubbornness could easily bankrupt them, even if just with legal fees. Of course, they could avoid that threat by simply providing their product to customers who legally and legitimately paid for it.

I was just able to reveal a key for Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI from the Humble Choice June 2021 bundle. However, when I am trying to reveal a key for DESOLATE I get the "Keys are temporarily exhausted for this product. As soon as we receive more keys, we will add them to this page and send you an email." message.
Is this somehow region dependent. I am located in Europe.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, I saw someone from Germany on Reddit say they could get a Civ VI key. However, I was unable to get one while checking my bundle. Seems very regional.

Games with region-locked keys will, of course, have different pools for the keys, and they seem to show the message for regions where the keys have run out. Users from regions where key are still available can still redeem their keys, but once they run out, it's very likely that they will not be restocked.

I was able to claim Strange Brigade again (was no longer expired like last week), but keys are exhausted. Hopefully this means they're walking back some of those retroactive expiries?

That's good. I think other people also said they could still redeem the key(s) if they had revealed it previously.

Thanks but I bet most people don't even care about the EA ones

Without notice, Humble Bundle retroactively expired Deadlink keys purchased 1 year ago from Back with a Vengeance: The Best of Boomer Shooters and are reselling them in the Best of Boomer Shooters 4: Badda Bing, Badda Boom Bundle.
Stay classy, Humble Bundle.

Yeah, unfortunate stuff. I really need to get back to redeeming old keys, but I keep running into the hour limit.

Hello, I just wanted to share a list of games that are expiring soon. I do not know all of them, but after missing out on a couple I wanted to have a centralized area to post about expiry dates. The game key does not have to be from Steam so long as it is expiring, reply and I'll add it.
Table of games and dates below, sorted by nearest expiration date that has not yet occurred. Already expired keys are added to the bottom.
Google Sheet version of the table below with colors marking expired games and a bit more information.
