Anybody know? I really liked this series, I kind of forgot about it until I was on a search for a new game to play... seems to be no wiki pages on it or anything. o_o''

We had tiekeris or whatever on the DS, it was pretty legit. I don't remember much of the series minus 1 game on the PSX though. Good stuff though.

What I wanna know is where the fuck Breath of Fire went. BOF I-IV are incredible fucking games. Capcom must be nuts.

Ah I remember that one too, well I more or less torrented it on the PC tbh. Still a good game though. Some company should just focus on HD remaking a ton of games...

I've given away 2 and 5. Yes, given away. Not a fan of the series. The new owner loves them, so I'm happy to have done so.

Still have Tactics lying around.

Anyway, on topic, there was a release on 1 / 2 on PSP for Japan, and I think they had announced a new game, but not sure what was happening with that.

Edit - Okay, found out it released in Japan a couple of months ago. Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. No plans to release in English to my knowledge.

Omg!!!! That looks so good... >.> they need to release more JRPG's in America. What is Sony thinking! D:<

Sony doesn't make the games. Complain to Konami.

Furthermore, RPGs tend to take a lot of work to translate, and unfortunately the companies still willing to work with PSP can't always do the big name titles.

I know Sony doesn't make them. But they should work harfer localizing them... I mean comon -_-'' Tales of Xillia has been released for over a year and ps3 hasn't even gotten Vespira yet.

You know they have nothing to do with the series, then say again that Sony should work harder to release a game they have nothing to do?

facepalm

I'm saying they should work harder to try to pay other people to release the games, like I said they just let other devs. take games away.

Vespira was taken by Xbox 360 when the Japanese version had a Ps3 deluxe version? Wth is up with that? Shouldn't Sony try to push more people to translate projects? The reason why Ps3 is losing the console wars is because they're trying to compete with Xbox for the same games. Each console should try something different >.>. I'm not saying Sony should make games (because obviously they don't, they're just the medium) they should however, try to push companies to use the Sony system instead of other systems.

The company is using the Sony system. They made one game in the series on DS, then back to Sony systems. Problem is, that company doesn't see any reason to translate, thinking they won' get money due to dropping sales for games in the series. AKA nothing to do with Sony

Really? I always thought it was Sony's fault o_o'', it never made sense to me since there seems like a lot of people who actually want to buy their games.

You think a lot of people would like to buy those games, but the series has been declining in popularity over the years. Doesn't mean there aren't people who want to buy it, but Konami don't think there are enough people interested to justify the work and money that would be required to do it.

Loved the Suikoden series on PS.

What happened is that Konami has generally become a shadow of its' former self when it comes to anything that doesn't have Metal Gear or Castlevania in the name.

I still have the first one. Sold the second one a few years back for like $150. I wasn't as big a fan of the second one and I needed the cash. Haven't played any since, but the first is still one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Thinking back on it, I kinda wish I hadn't sold the second one now. XD

Anyway, there were five numbered games and then the DS game, as has been mentioned. Apparently 5 came pretty close to the first two? Don't really know, but each game brought in less money than the previous, as I understand it, and it's not a very likely franchise to get developed again. =(

You forgot Tactics, which followed up on the 4th game in the series, even had save import like the older games.

I think its still alive but like most jrpg stuff its now on portable consoles or released only in japanese.

Konami gave up on JRPGs and the original creator left after Suikoden 3 which was barely made. After that games went downhill and never built up on the whole Harmonia vs the World that was implied at in S3. None of the portable games have anything to do with the core series, though.

The original games on the PSone were awesome....I found that from 3 it was almost like having my teeth pulled. I believe that Suikoden was released on the US PSN for a reasonable amount and there was supposedly plans for them to re-release 2 on it also. Not being American, I never really followed it up. Besides, I still have an original black label US Suikoden import I got ages ago.

I have 3 for the PS2 knocking around somewhere. It's been awhile since I played any of them though. :( 2 was good, but I loved the original. Gremio was and always will be...A bad ass.
