Should I play The Walking Dead even though I haven't watched the show? [Walking Dead GA]

As has been said, it does not have a direct correlation to the show and if you like the Telltale games, it might be a fun zombie story.

Am I the only one who thinks it feels too "Dragons Lair-ish" ? ...Of which I'm not a fan. It feels like there is no freedom to your character. A sort of "do this, at this time, or you die and do it again" I only got a couple hours in and didn't feel compelled to go back. Does it get better? Allow a little more freedom for your character?

I played it despite not having watched the show. Loved every minute of it. Now I watch the show

It is more based on the comics then the show,and the show is based very loosely on the comics.So while you may come across small references to the show nothing that would spoil it or you would miss by playing the games before watching the show.That is what i loved about the game so much is that while it is based on the walking dead world it has its own story.Either way watch the show first or play the games first you will not get any big spoilers.

I actually think if you have not watched the show that playing the games would be a good way to start

it shares a name with the comic and television show, outside of 2 characters the two don't intersect with each other at all. You won't get spoilers for the show from the game, nor will you have any spoilers from the game in the show. It's a completely unique and original story set in The Walking Dead Universe..
