It's still well worth playing. Don't mistake their separate existence as being a bad thing. You get an incredible story where it feels like your choices really matter.
There's a reason my steam profile picture is of the two main characters from that game. I freaking loved every minute of it. Play it.

Ya, what makes the TWD adventure series so good is that the story is original. The emotional impact of directing avatars from the original graphic novel/comic isn't as impactful as new characters whom you control, whom have unknown fates--even when (in the case of S1) your choices aren't super important.
TWD the adventure game drew people in with emotional impact and that was done most effectively with originals.

Yep, it will :) The game and the show just take place in the same universe. More than that, the game is based on the comics, not on the TV show (unlike Game of Thrones).

Only the newest Walking Dead game, the one with Michonne, is based on the comics. The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2 games are completely different from the show or comics.

If my memory serves me, the very first episode actually features Glenn and Herschel, but they are not portrayed as the characters of the show (as Telltale Michonne doesn't equal TV Michonne).

Yeah exactly. When you play the game, that are just introduced as small characters in the game and you don't have to have any knowledge of them. Thats the great thing about Telltale, you can play any of their games as a newbie to the universe

As I've already mentioned in this thread, except for Game of Thrones. They understand that there are a lot of people that have never read Fables, played Borderlands or watched The Walking Dead, but Game of Thrones is tailored for show viewers and them only.

definitely! The storyline stands on its own, even if someone is completely unfamiliar with the series.
So playing it does not ruin the TV show at all.

Never saw the show, have played both season, enjoyed it. As far as i heard, the story doesn't require knowledge about the series, therefore start playing and enjoy :)
