Today was the glorious release of wave 4. Did anyone strike some gold on their hunts?

I had a pretty fantastic day, with my preorders and what I grabbed today, I only lack Greninja now.

I've really really wanted to have a custom Fusion Suit Samus done, but it just costs so much that it's hard for me to justify it.

what prices have you found? i found someone on Etsy who does customs, if you want i could try to find that link again. i personally bought mine for 50$ from amazon which was the cheapest any of my friends had found at the time.

It's been a while so I don't remember the prices I found, I just remember they were higher than I was willing to pay.

I nabbed a Pac-Man amiibo from my local GameStop because they only had 2 (out of the 2 they received) in store.
I also picked up Robin, Lucina, and Silver Mario during Amazon's Amiibogedon. Let me tell you buying $70 worth of toys could've been spent on something worthwhile but gosh dang it I already have 8 amiibos there is no stopping this train.

Heh, I think my Amiibo count is at 32 at the moment, if I include the ones that are still on the way to me.

I mean I only planned on just getting Kirby, Sonic, Villager, and King Dedede (my mains in SSB4), but then everything gets expensive in the long (one month) run.

I always planned on getting them all, minus the SMB line, I don't really care about that one outside of Toad. It does tend to get pricey, but it still falls into the entertainment portion of my budget. If not Amiibo it'd be books or games or even other figures.

Not a fan of amiibos personally but as a collector I understand the appeal.

Thank you, I see so many people like "Why you guys want those Mcdonalds toys!?" and honestly, anymore I don't even bother responding.

Oh I've been collecting since I was lil with Pokémon cards so I totally get it. I just know that if I start with amiibo, I'll be going all out and thinges will get out of hand real quick with me XD.

I agree not my cup of tea, especially as I don't own any of the hardware they can be used for. However, the poker player in me wants to get the Silver Mario as a card marker...however I'd feel horrible taking it off the shelf and out of the hands of someone who would cherish it.

Honestly, I'd go for it, Silver Mario is common as hell right now.

I live in a town with only one place selling them afaik and a population of 200k, if they're still there after the weekend I will grab them.

The comic collector in me feels the pain of having something get big fast and escape your hands...like Deadpool #250 and it's variant covers.

Ah, I see.
But why not just use an activation code/card system or something instead? Is it because it's more like a collectible item?

They're more collectibles with bonus in game effects. Nintendo does plan to eventually release cards that can be used in place of them though.

Ah, I see, makes sense. Basically like trading cards collecting.

Selling it with the figurine allows them to drive desire and get people there on release. If they know that the limited color scheme with the feature they want is only say 5% of the production line, they know their location may only see 1-3 of them. This not only makes stores want to order more of your product, to get more of the rarer ones to draw in customers, but it helps push things out. It reminds me a lot of KidRobot and what they managed to create.

I have myself a Kirby and a Sheik, and I'm wanting to grab a Dark Pit. Then I'll have 3 good opponents to fight.

Good luck with Dark Pit! I feel like he'll probably be a hard one to find.

Or rather, I think the last few Smash characters period are gonna be hard to find.

I'm getting the vibe of a low number being made of him, so it's gonna be really hard. I would've grabbed PIt had he been not so damn hard to find early on.

I have no idea why people buy these overpriced things, but everyone has their stuff they collect, I remember that I bought stuff like this as a kid.....when I was like 8 or 9 :P

For their quality, the figures are actually a pretty good price, assuming you're paying retail for them.
