I was creating some giveaways, and noticed that the pages are not in SSL, and everything is being sent in clear text.
This is dangerous, as anybody can intercept the traffic and steal the keys.

it will be better for everybody to enable SSL, at least for the 2 pages when the person is creating a new Giveaway...

Thanks

SSL overhead nowadays is not as before: with new web browsers and servers, new protocols, HTTP/2, etc...

It is not necessary, but why not? everybody is moving to SSL these days.

SSL is also now essentially free, using StartSSL (https://www.startssl.com/) or Let's Encrypt (https://letsencrypt.org/). Basically no excuse.

Even if not free, it is very cheap to get basic domain validation certificates (not the EV green bar ones). I grabbed for a client an SSL cert for 1 year for $7, and if I wanted, it was like $15 for 3 years.

I also got for my personal website (which I only know about) an ssl certificate on black friday for $0.88 from namecheap...

With the google ADs revenue on this site, I think https certificate is affordable to the site owners.
