OP, can you add this to your topic?
Here's a tutorial I use, it's pretty darn basic, it has eight parts. But it's nicely done and makes you not feel so gosh-darn helpless when using the system for the first time. So here's the link, it's a youtube link, clicky

^ EXTREMELY helpful (official) forums. The people here give great advice and are always friendly. I've never been told I've asked a stupid question, no matter how stupid and simple it was.

^ A list of scripts that you can add to your game to change how it works. Nobody likes a game that only features VX Ace's basic features, so these can add a lot of personality to your game. Make sure to read ALL instructions and disclaimers for these scripts carefully, as they are made by different authors and may have different terms of use (some, like Yanfly, will let you use any of their scripts for free, even in a commercial project, while others, like Victor Sant for example, require you to buy a license before you can use them in commercial projects). Keep in mind that scripts modify a lot of things, and as such many scripts may be incompatible with one another. Never add more than one script at a time (that is to say, only one between each test), and always test everything to make sure you don't have any errors/crashes. Many scripts made by a given author (such as Yanfly) are almost always 100% compatible with one another, so if you stick to one author, you should have no problems ever.
Enjoy RPG Maker VX Ace :)
Edit: Fixed the link to the Master Script List since some formatting thing doesn't like the way the url is written.
