Hello,
i would like to see us being able to use quotes in searches, because right now, you can not search proper for,
lets say, the game "stranded", because all you will find is the game "stranded deep" instead of it.

also, if the search could be case sensitive, that would be great, since there are, for instance, 2 reflex games on steam.
one called "Reflex" and the other one "RefleX".

That would be great, thanks.

Edit: THIS IS ABOUT THE TRADES, NOT THE GIVEAWAYS.

Would you like to use quotes (") in the search bar?

Yes, i want to find the game i was looking for, faster.
No, i like to dig through false positives.

I think search was just fixed.

I was talking about the giveaways and there something changed. Before, searching for Jesus wouldn't show results for Fist Of Jesus, for example.

i meant the trades, sorry, should've made that clear.
i was accustomed to the old system, where trades and gifts were 2 seperate sites,
now it is a bit mixed.
they should implement sub forums in the bugs section, or at least a prefix for threads.

i think most of the "no" votings are because they thought i was talking about giveaways.

Case sensitive is not a very good idea, but what about the other issue? Do you mean that a search for "stranded" will ALSO return results for Stranded Deep, or ONLY Stranded Deep?

that it would only return results for "stranded", not for "Stranded Deep"
so it would ignore every thread containing another word after the word in quotes in that line of text

i can see why you think case sensitive would not be a good idea. like in people writing their games with upper case letters and some would not.

Now I understood what you mean. That should not be implemented with quotes, but with the standard minus sign syntax.

stranded -deep

Case sensitive in quotes - MAYBE
Case sensitive without quotes - NOOOO

By the way if you will search "stranded", you get result of Stranded and Stranded Deep. Quotes will not help. You need search like in google: stranded -Deep. But I don't know if it will work in here :)

that is exactly the problem
if you have a game with a word that is used in another game, you can dig through all of the games that have the same word in their name. pretty annoying.
as with the "-" sign. what about looking for stranded deep, how will you avoid finding ever post with only stranded in it?

I will search stranded deep with quotes, so it gives results where these two world are together only

No need case sensitive for all simple search! If you use quotes then it can be case sensitive, but only in this case.

Maybe make case sensitivity optional, it could exclude results otherwise (say someone decided to begin all words with capslock or not).

Having hyphens to exclude would be awesome too: Say you're looking for a game with various versions or sequels but people just list the first part of the name (eg: Half Minute Hero). At least by placing part of the name of the game you don't want after the hyphen would get rid of those results.
