Bioshock from Amazon Region locked?

A person that I know bought a bundle on Amazon containing both Bioshock and Bioshock 2 and apparently those 2 keys work only in the US.

I tried to search online and I found several answers of people who claimed it is region locked and some others that say it isn't =/

Since now there is a trilogy pack at a very cheap price I would like to ask: Has anyone here actually bought the amazon's bundle called "Bioshock Triple Pack [Online Game Code]"(or any other bundle with Bioshock and Bioshock 2) on amazon.com and can confirm whenever the codes are region locked or not? I am not sure if I can post the links in here but if you search the name I wrote above you will find it easily on google.

I have a similar issue where I bought Saints Row IV for $15 for Amazon US and it is region locked to the USA.

Actually it's only locked from Europe, rest of world is fine.

How did you know that? did the key say that or something? I asked because I'm trying to understand how to tell if a key is locked or not but not even steamdb talks about a SRIV key eu locked as far as I can see =/

AllowPurchaseFromRestrictedCountries Yes -> Can activate only from listed countries

So theorically after the activation we can play it anywhere, right? because when we can't play a game on a certain Country it would say "onlyallowrunincountries" I think.

If that's the case then no problem. I'll go to Italy for Xmas, I could activate the game in there and then come back to Japan and play it I guess =)

No. You can't activate in Italy but can in Japan.

Activated fine for me in Serbia (got it yesterday), but yeah for most countries it is locked, along with other Deep Silver games.

I gifted the Bioshock 1/2 bundle and there were no problems activating it in EU.

I bought them separately, first two a year ago and Infinite in last month. I activated them without any issues (as Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite Retail (WW)). There's a chance they changed something but I've never heard about this problem.

I bought that triple pack. I live in Canada, activating them successfully. In me account detail, bioshock infinite is tagged as WW, other 2 don't have tag. These are what I can tell.

I guess it's random then, they will send random US or WW keys =/ Did your friend have problems with activating or play the game? (assuming that he lives outide US)

My home address on Steam is in Europe but I currently reside in Asia. Will I be able to activate those US region locked games (Bioshock Infinite, Saints Row IV, etc.) or does it go by the address set on Steam?

I have the same problem, the difference is that my steam address is japanese as well because I made it this year =/

If you buy games directly from steam it's easy to tell because you can use steamdb..if not..I don't know =(

But if Steam only checks your address you could simply change it. I guess they mainly check through the IP address, so it would be interesting whether we could get games from the US. I'm in Japan as well.

They check IP address, of that I'm pretty sure. There are games that can be played all over the world and some NA or RU that can be played only in certain countries, that's why steamdb is useful in checking that out if the game is purchased on steam because you can see the specific code before buying it.

It's not random. So far only games published by Deep Silver were locked on Amazon

Rosewell posted a pic of her trilogy package a few comments above. Infinite seems to be NA for her while someone got it WW (and my friend who bought another bundle from amazon with BS and BS2 got NA only for those keys =/) so I guess it's random, what other explanation will there be?

Don't know about this pack, but back in May I bought Bioshock Dual Pack and a few months later I picked up Infinite. All of them activated without any problems.

Korean here and I activated Bioshock 1 and 2, both bought from amazon (1 from shooter pack, 2 from bio triple pack), without any problem.

I live in Korea and I was able to activate all 3 just fine. I've installed them all and have successfully launched them so I'm sure there isn't a region lock

If the keys work in Korea there is an high chance that they will work in Japan as well, thank you =)

Works fine, I brought the collection. The triple pack off amazon for ~$15 and I can activate it fine on Steam in Australia.
