Woke up today and got a notification from the Play Store that I received $1 free Google Pay wallet. Don't know why I got it. My Play Store region was changed recently to the US. Does this happen regularly in there? Now I don't know what to do with it. I tried buying a lootpack from Lootboy app. But the total including tax was 1.08, so I could not. Should I buy something else? Or should I wait for more gifts like this (if there's a possibility of that happening), and then buy something more expensive?

for me the best Android app atm is easily camscanner, you may want to check if 1$ is enough for the paid version

Can you tell me what's the difference between the free and paid version? I use Adobe Scan for the same purpose. And it's free, without any ads and in-app purchases.

by heart the paid version takes out the watermark, I can't remember if it has something more (not mentioning taking out ads)

edit:
About CamScanner Full version:

  • Support high-quality scans
  • PDF files are created with no watermark
  • Evernote/SkyDrive uploading feature will not expire
  • No ads

About CamScanner Free version:

  • PDF files are created with watermark “Generated by CamScanner”
  • Evernote/SkyDrive Uploading is available for 7 days
  • Ad-supported

The easiest way to get free google play credit is to do google opinion rewards. Quick 2-3 multiple choice surveys for around 15p every 4-5 days. Got around £70 in total earned already.

Do make sure to either not lie or stick to one story if you are going to lie :D. Google will repeat the surveys sometimes to check you aren't just answering randomly.

Big Brother Google already knows what you think before you tell them, anyway.

I would save it for an app you like. I would recommend Nova Launcher Premium, best launcher out there

Just check that it is legitimate free money and not a carefully worded discount, e.g. "$1 credit towards an app or game over $1", because I have seen a couple of them recently. As Henryblah mentioned, completing the surveys on Google Opinion Rewards is the easiest way to rack up credit that you can spend without having to also dip into your pocket. As for how to spend it, I occasionally try something new but more often I use it to pay for the premium versions of free software that I have been happily using because I already know that I like the software and I feel good about supporting the developer.
