Ethiopian food. I'm not really a fan of the injera bread. It's more sour than sourdough.

The fillings for that bread look good and a lot of choice too. ^^

i was going to ask what's the spongy thing on the plate... : injera bread, made out of teff flour (Eragrostis tef). all new things to me. those rolls really look strange :)

"sour" with what you got on the plate? not the best match, maybe, still curious ah of everything eatable that comes from Africa. so thank you for sharing that pic.

also, looking at your (nice)tradition numbers, you're close to 1500, the magic number when you'll organize an international sg banquet... how cool (and tasty) would be that? :D

That injera looks a bit light in color to have been made with teff only. It was probably mixed with barley or wheat
but yeah it would be sour on its own, regardless of which cereal is used. It's a fermented dough so the sourness comes from the fermentation, like in yoghurt where the lactose is fermented into lactic acid.

You're in Italy, right? There has to be an Ethiopian restaurant you can try with the historical ties between Italy and Ethiopia. (there are only a handful in Paris as most of our African-born people come from other countries)

Never tried Ethopian food but it doesn't look very appealing.

Neither is a bowl of chili if you've never tried it I guess. It's a lot of stewed food so yeah it looks a bit... loose lol but it's tasty

I am not particularly a fan of the bread either, but the food is good. Have to be prepared to get your hands messy tho

We have a local place that serves Ethiopian. I actually really enjoyed every part of it, bread included!

From the looks of your picture, I think I had something very similar; a bunch of different items all arranged on the bread together. Though, I don't know how common or not that is, as I've only ever tried it once.
