I remember that I got a cracked version running, but now that I've bought it on steam, it doesn't work at all. It keeps crashing when either starting a new game, running a performance test or changing the resolution.

What I've tried:

  • compatibility mode
  • verfying files (steam)
  • editing ini's to fit resolution etc.
  • unplugged logitech devices
  • patching
  • imported old save files (couldn't load)

I'm out of ideas. Maybe I should just try my cracked one again.

Worked fine for me. Loved playing it, too.

If you happen to have an AMD graphics card, try putting your FSAA settings to default in Catalyst Control Center

Almost every game on vista required this, only a few on win 7 (esp. old games) > adding the game.EXE as an exception to the
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) - this will high likely do the trick ... (oh and best to reset the compatibility modes back to standard)
If you can not change the DEP (add exceptions) your UAC (User Account Control) is too high and should be turned down.

I've tried the addons EP & PM, too. Same problem.

Every time when it says "Click any key to continue." after the loading screen, it crashes.

  • delete all... also folders...
  • delete all save and confing from documents, appdata, roaming, etc (find it, i dont rememebr where is it)
  • install again
  • if still not working check your video driver and the directx (if is possible install the directx that you can find in the root folder of the game)
  • still not working? run in compatibility mode with xp sp3
  • again not working? try to install it on a "computer" and not on the "washmachine"

hope this halp

I had no problem. Ran it normally, didn't have to do anything special

I've found the solution.

I've ran dxtory (screen capturing tool), which somehow made it crash for unknown reasons.

Thanks for your help though.

On another note; does anyone know some performance/graphic tweeks/nvidia settings to get the most out of it?
