What's the difference between the definitive edition and the original one?

New challenges and, some more levels and new skills.
When you buy the Definitive Edition you receive the original together.

Then what's the problem if everyone who got the original also got the definitive edition? Am i missing something?

Ah, i see. That makes sense. It's strange that they are not giving the original owners the definitive edition.

I guess the point isn't asking a free copy of definitive edition if I own the original, but rather why original owner can't get the definitive edition by paying just the difference or with a discounted price or something. For original owner, if they want the definitive edition they'll have to pay the full price again, yet they don't get the benefit of getting a free copy of the original edition, since they already have it. This is kind of punishing the original owners, who are actually the supporters for the company to make the definitive edition...

The same stupid decision happens with Nier Automata and its Game of the YoRHa Edition too...
And Humble Bundle with the Annual Subscribers...

There was a discount for the definitive edition if you owned the original game though. I remember they issued coupons to everyone who had it. I think the price was 5 bucks with the coupon. It should have been a permanent discount of course, but it was something.

Yup, it was definitely 75% off (€5/$5) for a while after release for owners of the original game. It was only for a short time though, which indicates they just wanted to pressure people into buying it or lose out on the deal forever. Pretty bad practice.

EDIT: So SG just hit me with the "too many requests" error even though I did nothing except write this message for the past minute. If I hadn't reflexively copied the message beforehand I would have lost the entire thing for no reason. That's kinda frustrating.

For that reason I'm considering buying it but not playing yet. The monthly is revealed next week, but refunds can be issued for up to two weeks.

As far as I know Ori series never go to any bundle. I bought the previous Ori and the Blind Forest DE in steam because of that. But at least Microsoft is willing to give bigger discount than before. The history low for Ori and the Blind Forest DE has been 50% until Will of the Wisps was out.
But judging from how they did with the Ori and Blind Forest, I would wait for probably a Definitive Edition for Will of the Wisps too.

I'm with Maya on this one. Won the first one here and have never been able to finish it due to lacking the skills and nerves to progress, since it's really hard. Then they threw a Definitive Edition on the market which had a difficulty setting implemented, and asked me to buy it. Yeah ... no.

I really would love to dive into Ori's world again and been eyeing the sequel, but ultimately this review convinced me that I will probably not enjoy my time with Ori 2, since everything mentioned in there are off-putters for me.

i bought this during the winter sale but it was unplayable due to stuttering so i refunded. i have an rtx 2070 and an old i7-3770, so i assume it's just very cpu dependent or something. kinda threw me off since i've been able to play everything else i've thrown at it, including cyberpunk 2077, so that's kinda frustrating. i need to upgrade my cpu, but that would also mean upgrading my mobo, which would also mean upgrading my ram, since i'm still using ddr3. i have the money to do it but i've been kinda lazy plus i don't really know what i should get.. it seems like there's always something new right around the corner. plus right now amd seems like a better bang for buck, and i don't know much about their products. so now i'm rambling. might pick this game up since $10 is a good price - cheaper than it was during the winter sale.
