That calculation is somewhat conservative. So unless the guy is a Russian trader and got the cards for free he spent a retarded amount of money for those cards. Even if he did get the cards for free he could have sold them on the market for around 7K into his wallet, bought keys and sold them for paypal. He would have received about 5000$ doing this.
