It's one of those things where I don't really see the point and don't think I'll use it yet wouldn't want to poo-poo the idea as others might find it useful. More functionality and options are usually a good thing as long as it doesn't make things overly cluttered or complicated as it gives folk more choice as to how they want to use things and experience the site.
tl;dr - not for me, but might be appreciated by some.

first result: 10,406 entries with 1 day remaining. The level/region filter suggestions seems to be way more helpful than recommended.

Would be a nice addition, IF it does not overtax the servers.

If you already put effort into designing the feature, why not implement it? Alternatively, implement it and track the traffic that the feature receives and judge whether it's popular using that data. If the concern is about unnecessarily clogging up the sidebar (as if there isn't ample room), you could always add an option in the settings allowing users to decide whether to display it. Options for other features or sidebars could be added there, as well.
If this feature is used, however, I recommend that there is an algorithm or variables that take into account past entered giveaways, and perhaps past viewed giveaways as well. I think this would give more meaning to the "recommended" part of the feature, if that is not already included.

I think it works well for me. I can spend more points each day. I'm surprised a bit that there're so many people who giveaway AAA games.
And It's not related to this topic but I'd appreciate very much if you check your queue thing from support.

Looks nice. It found me some GAs that I hadn't seen and would have missed since I'm going to sleep soon (then straight to work in the morning). As others have said though, it would be even more useful if we could see the parameters and potentially customize them.

Nah, I know what giveaways I need, and already filtered 5000 games I not interested for. But, if recommended feature will show giveaways that I filtered by mistake and this games really can interest me, that would be helpful. In other words it will be good to have "Show filtered games in recommended giveaways" option in profile giveaway settings.

Thanks for the feedback. Based on the replies, I'm not going to include the feature for now, but wait until a more well-rounded solution is setup.

Hi SG, I'm doing a quick test, and trying out a page that recommends giveaways.
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?type=recommended
The page orders giveaways based on a number of different game attributes, along with how soon the giveaway is ending. If you have a Steam wishlist configured, then the wishlist page might already have you covered, but if you don't, this might help you to sort though the giveaway list. Test it out above, vote on the poll, and we'll decide whether or not to add the page to the side navigation. Thanks!
