Attack on bot

I am tired [As many of you i think, i know it's nothing new!] about those bots trying hard to add me on Steam.

I mean... All it started once i played Counter Strike: Global Offensive, but initialy they wasn't so many, just two-three on a week.
Now, they are the same ammount everyday, and i bet it's because i bought some skins. It's becoming frustrating.

The funny thing is that they don't try at least to add you with an almost believable account:

  • Always same profile pictures;
  • Always similar nicknames, most of them have also [unassigned] on their nickname's history;
  • Always no Steam level;
  • Always private profile;

I mean... Do you want to scam me? Okay, at least be credible... I am not stupid, i will not accept anyone of those bots, i am not even accepting strange people with private profile, also if they could be not a bot.

Damn, i would like to stop all that.

Okay, now i vented myself a little, thanks to who will read all that, and please don't comment this thread with useless comment like "Oh, other complaints!" or "You said nothing new!". If you don't like my thread please leave it and go to another thread.

P.S.: Sorry if i wrote something wrong, my English is nothing special.

OP, i reply here so that you see it.

I created 2 weeks ago a similar thread asking for a solution to the problem. Someone suggested me to close all trade topics i had on steamtrades.com and on Steam. I closed everything and 3 days later all invitations from bots stopped for good!

I used to get at least 2 invitations and now i get none! Do try it and you will get rid of them.

I get bot invites every day, but I won't accept anyone with private profile anyway.....still I don't understand why you even wrote that thread ^^

Lol, i got three requests in the same time after this thread bumped up with your comments.

I wrote it just to vent a bit. I think i has more people on the blocked list thant the friendlist.

I was used to report them, but it's a lost of time... I prefer to decline the request and block them.

I think it's related to CS:GO yeah, get some every now and then as well, guess 2 to 4 a month.
They will keep trying as long as 1 out of 1000 persons is dumb enough to fall for it.

At LEAST 3 invites a day since I started playing CS:GO. DEY VANT MY SKEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNN (also skins).

You are right, I was playing CS:GO at that time so it might be related (like OP noticed :d). Stop playing CS:GO and no bots! Hitboxes in that game are crap anyway.

I personally get an average of 5 bot friend requests per day, and the thing is that this whole invite spam thing happened since SG V2 launched, before I would only get bot requests after bumping my threads on tf2outpost.
