Hey! I'm actually in a very similar position. I've been unemployed for about nine months and have been applying for jobs this entire time, but I got no interviews whatsoever. The way my country is right now also doesn't help. Yay!
I'm pretty much getting desperate at this point. But hey, we'll make it through! They say it gets darker before dawn. Let the dark come. Light will too, eventually.

best of luck I was in the same boat close to a year ago for about 18 months at that. Although it meant that I got to spend most of the first 2 years of my daughters life with her which was the silver lining in a horribly stressful and depressing situation. You've got people rooting for you, so just keep at it. If you're getting interviews then that''s at least a step in the right direction. In my desperation, in feeling like my resume wasn't getting me anywhere I tried a professional writing service.... My response rate dropped from 18% to 3%. The r/Resume on Reddit helped me salvage it, again. But anyways I digress, just keep at it and you'll get there eventually. Remember too that your family loves you no matter what, and your worth to them, and yourself, is not dependent on a job.

Don't allow yourself to be discouraged. You will find what you need eventually. In the mean time, try to remember to consider the time with your kids that you have now as precious. Some place will realize that what they need is...you. :D

When I start feeling down, I pull out some OTR shows, most of which are 25-30 minutes long, many of which are in the public domain and can be found on archive.org. Depending on the genre you prefer, I could probably recommend more than one series. I personally always find my spirits lifted when listening to the Jack Benny Show, Fibber McGee & Molly, or the Birds Eye Open House. If you like old movies, the Lux Radio Theater & Screen Guild Theater broadcast movies-adapted-for-radio.

im just trying to keep my chin up about being unsuccessful getting back to working. i had to take time off for my health and to take care of my youngest but ive been applying to a lot of places and had a few interviews that didnt work out. got me bummed but im looking forward to when i finally get something so i can give away something wish listed by a lot of people. for now i only have some older keys that needed to be dusted off.
