40 €??? Seems like it'll be a five part episode adventure series (never heard of those before...) and those usually sell for 23 or 28 €. Adding 12/17 € on top of that just because you cling on a distant past seems a little much.

As much as I try to get into dark-souls-esque adventure point-and-click, I don't feel like wasting several hours on a single puzzle, perhaps one that doesn't even work coughMystfuckyoucough

Ruins the point for me. It's how I got through The Longest Journey and I felt like a stupid little shit afterwards.

A lot of them are ridiculously obscure, have difficult-to-see graphics or just don't make any sense, I'll admit that.

I'm really interested in that game, but it's currently so so expensive, so I will just wait and wait and wait ._.
edit: I live in Brazil, we are not supposed to have the most expensive region price of a game, please someone one tell that to devs ._.

Well, everybody can tell you, what you get for pre-ordering a game . I myself have been trying to prove it wrong over the past years, but seeing how PC games fail to be in playable state on release day I might join the camp of Non-Pre-Orderers. Of course I will always have games that I'm excited about, but not going to give any money for them before seeing the final reviewed product. And since this is an episodic game everybody knows that it will take at least a year, until they finish the whole story, but by then the game's price will drop like crazy. There can be exceptions, only if the game's quality is amazing, but there aren't many examples. I bought Tales from the Borderlands almost on release day, and still we only have 3 episodes out of 5, but I don't care, because that game is fantastic. Every episode is a small unit of fun and awesomeness. But still, these units are really small (1.5/2 hours long) and after the end you have to wait a lot until they release the next chapter.

What the.... you're right! Why in hell would they do that?

I know, doesn't help in purchasing it though. :P
Oh well, I can still buy them on GOG.

Oh wow, this is surprising. I'm glad I bought a copy, and one for a friend who couldn't buy it because it wasn't made available for sale in Australia. But I have to think it will come back, I don't see why they would pull it with the new chapters release which I'd expect to boost sales of the originals.
But stranger things have happened on Steam...
Edit: Also, King's Quest without Roberta Williams is a little different. Telltale tried to bring her on for their KQ project before Activision recovered the rights and the project was cancelled.
Telltale approached Roberta Williams, the originator of the series, and one of the designers on all of the original games, to see if she was interested in working on the new one. While she declined by saying she had retired from games, she did offer the development team advice, which was "very valuable," according to developer Dave Grossman (who was leading Telltale's King's Quest project)

I have the Steam, GOG, and CD/Floppies for these games yet. :) But it is a good question. GOG now makes an announcement when they're removing any title(s) from their store, so rest assured if Activision does pull them for any reason there will be a last chance to get them. I wish Steam would do this... And once you have them and they're in your library they won't disappear, you just can't buy any new copies.

Instawishlist! I will see how it fares before I even think about buying this though.

I will be buying this regardless of reviews. King's Quest has a special place in my heart. I've said it before and I'll say it again; I'm a sucker for nostalgic purchases. I will not be pre-ordering, though. Especially with episodic releases. I'll wait until the whole thing is released.

I've had enough with pre-orders. I wish I didn't buy that stupid Civ: Beyond Earth.

I love me some Civ but I'm so glad I didn't pre-order that one! Sorry you got caught out...

I'll wait for a sale, like I do with most games :D.
