So I'm back on Linux after not using it for like... 7-ish years (my Windows installation imploded), and I don't seem to be able to filter games in my library so it'll only show me those that run natively on Linux, instead it's showing me everything including the ones running on Proton. The tux button does basically nothing now. I'm very rusty when it comes to Linux so I'd appreciate any guidance, I wanna test if a certain audio issue is exclusive to Proton or widespread, and I also wanna compare performance maybe.
I remember there being an external site that allowed one to filter games by all sorts of criteria but I either can't find it or it no longer exists, that thing was really useful.

Not sure yet if I'm gonna stick with Linux or I'll try salvaging/replacing the broken Windows (will probably require me to nuke that partition too tbh) but for now this is what I'm stuck with on this PC.

Try Lorenzo Stanco's Steam Filters.

As you have nearly 6,000 games it may take 5 minutes to load, but hopefully it will faster since I just loaded your profile.

Ah, that's the one! I couldn't remember how it was called, thanks for the link.
Weirdly I can't load the page at all, it times out each time I try.

Edit: ok this is really strange, if I turn off the wifi on my phone and open the link through 4G it loads the page no problem. So the issue is my home's connection somehow. Good thing I though of trying on my phone I guess but now I only have even more questions.

I was going to suggest that you disable steam play in the compatibility section of steam settings, but found out I have the same problem as you. Seems that the option was removed rather recently, rendering the tux button useless - at least according to this reddit thread.

Yep, I did some googling and found the same, they apparently unceremoniously removed the option to turn off Proton altogether. That's why I came here looking for help XD

If you want to test if native version runs better you can use free games with native linux suport like Aperture Desk Job or Artifact. But from my experience it's the other way around. No problems with proton while the native versions often have bugs or don't run at all anymore.

It's mostly because I want to rule out some audio problems as being Proton specific and not widespread to Steam itself (they don't seem to happen outside of Steam), performance is secondary once I sort out other things.
But yeah I think I'll eventually use Valve games to test performance, I might as well use this as an excuse to finally play one of the Half-Life's... or just replay Portal 2 again.
