It shouldn't be about acceptance vs place tho; porn isn't bad, it just isn't equal to other types of content/art and shouldn't be treated and judged as such (as you implied). Due to that, it indeed just doesn't belong on the same stores.

So, yes - PornHub should have its own store (well, Nutaku is a thing) and Steam shouldn't be the ones carrying it.

I mean, people are fine with these games; but it's literally the same as Steam hosting Brazzers videos as they do movies, TV shows and anime... And I'm sure people would object to that.

Otherwise, I don't agree with you on two points: First, who cares what your friends/family can see? No reason to feel shame in that sense, it should be understood that some things are normal and natural... Second, "freedom of choice" and really most of these "freedom of/to X" reasons are so annoying at this point... Not everything in life should be just up for grabs, fair game and free to be done (though obviously where to draw lines is the hard part).

Porn is for sexually arousing and stimulating you, leading you towards or helping you during masturbation.

A porn game can technically have mechanical or story elements that can do what normal games do, but at the end of the day if the primary reason/purpose of said game is to (again) do the sexual arousal and stimulation, it is porn first, game second.

Think of it this way: There are plenty of porn movies with some kind of plot; porn movies with some attempt at having dialogue, action, story, comedy... But at the end of the day, it's just porn. No one treats it as anything more, no one pretends that it is anything more, everyone knows and accepts it for what it is - just porn.

So, why would Steam sell "just porn" among its games? We have Nutaku for that.

Also Visual Novels can be anything - the fact that we associate them with porn is the sad part... It's a genre with potential, yet it is wasted on horny otakus...
