Thanks, but I'm already winning. ) I expect this giveaway to be a lot of fun.

Your quarry has managed to slip past while you were snoozing. There's still time to track it down, however, before it escapes completely.

I was expecting the giveaway to end without any entries at all, but someone noticed I had a private giveaway and went sniffing around. It wasn't difficult to find once you started looking. And as there was only one entry, there was 100% chance of winning. Congratulations, GPTrixie! D

This was a "Hunter" giveaway. Last time I made one, I simply stashed the giveaway code in the thread with a few days' time remaining in the giveaway. This time, I included an additional way to succeed. The idea is to reward people who are both patient and attentive.
1) The week before it went live, I salted a "trail" in various pages of SG. Most of it was buried within forum pages. Following the trail would lead to the giveaway, regardless of when/where you started following the trail.
2) A few days before the giveaway was to begin, I announced that I would be making it "soon." I then waited for the thread to get lost in the forum.
3) The day of the giveaway, I announced it. I also bumped the thread so that anyone paying attention would notice it. I then left the thread alone to go "dormant," again.
4) When there were a few days remaining, I planted the giveaway code in this thread.
5) When there were a few hours remaining, and still no entries, I put the giveaway code in the OP.
I plan on doing another one of these sometime in the future. The first "Hunter" giveaway had 13 entries, this one had a single entry. My next "Hunter" giveaway will probably use the same format this one. Keep an eye out for "Moon Moon"....

Aww.
Earlier today, as I was viewing the Back to the Classics puzzle #7, I thought of how I didn't really understand what the rabbit hole puzzle was (since I'm still sort of new) and was reminded of this puzzle, since I had no idea what a hunter puzzle was. I went looking for this thread, wanting to see if more information was added, but I forgot the title and was too lazy to search a few extra pages on the forums.
Silly me. >_<

Depending upon what time you were curious, you might have had a 50/50 chance of winning. Oh, well...

Actually, I probably wouldn't have had a chance.
"few hours remaining"
...so unless your idea of a few hours is 5-6 hours...yeah. :P

I dunno when you were thinking of searching, but the giveaway ended around 11:30am, PDT.

I think you meant a.m.
And yeah, sorry, I got my numbers confused (was basing it off the time you made that post, not when the giveaway ended), but still wouldn't have made it. The giveaway ended half an hour before I decided to try to search.

I expect to be hitting the 300 CV mark as soon as the latest winner logs on to claim his prize. Hopefully, he won't keep me waiting too long.... P
[Update #1]
The winner of my previous giveaway has failed to respond after more than a week. I have requested a re-roll. It may take a while to reach 300 CV. P
[Update #2]
In any case, I am too impatient to wait for my CV to actually hit 300 and am therefore celebrating right now with yet another giveaway. ) This will be a "hunter giveaway." Those of you who participated in the last one know how it works. For the rest of you, I will be posting an explanation.
[Update #3]
The primary element of a "Hunter" giveaway is patience and persistence. Your job, as a stealthy beast of prey, is to hunt down your quarry (this giveaway for the game "Dishonored") and go in for the kill (i.e. enter the giveaway). There are different ways to do this, of course. Some hunters stalk their prey, sniffing the wind and watching the ground in the hope of picking up the trail. (Yes, there is a trail to follow.) Other hunters go to the watering hole from which they know their quarry must drink and then lie in wait, ready to pounce. (Don't be caught napping!) However you choose to do it, your only options are to succeed or go hungry.
Sharpen your claws and fangs! THE HUNT BEGINS!
(Now, go and "get thing!")
