Hello, gamers ^_^

I wanna get new gaming stuff so I'm looking for advice in the following categories:

- gamepad (actually using xbox 360 gamepad for PC). I'm hesitating to get steam controller or xbox-one controller
Two Xbox360 + 1 Steam Controller
[FOR THIS ONE I'm 100% sure now so no need to talk about it anymore.]

- gaming mouse:
Yenkee Hornet YMS 3009
Razer MAMBA
Razer NAGA EPIC CHROMA
Razer OROCHI
Logitech G900

- mouse pad:
Zalman MP1000 mouse pad
Logitech G440
Tesoro Tapis de Souris Gamer Virtus
Corsair Gaming MM300 Standard
Zowie GSR
logitech g640 cloth
Roccat Taito
Steelseries QCK HEAVY
Razer goliathus Speed L

- HD webcam (if possible with background removal). I was thinking Logitech C922 Pro Stream 1080p
Logitech C922x PRO STREAM WEBCAM
Logitech C930e
Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910
Logitech BRIO – 4K Ultra HD

- headset (if possible wireless, unless you think it's a terrible idea)
Logitech G933
Razer MANO'WAR

- optionally an external mic (but i've been told that the in-built mic of the Logitech C922 is pretty good already)
Razer Seirēn Pro
Blue Microphone SnowBall iCe
Samson GoMic

Thanks for your help :-)

P.S: I'm using a laptop

If you're using a 360 gamepad why would you wanna upgrade. I mean I've heard people say the XBone controller is even a little bit better than the 360 gamepad but I'm not sure the difference is big enough to justify the investment.
You should probably inform yourself detailled about the Steam controller because from what I can tell it's not ment as a replacement for regular controllers but rather for mouse and keyboard.

Actually my pair of 360 controllers is getting old (direction issues a couple of buttons misbehaving ...) so I'm gonna change it anyway. I just wanna know if I should go the one route or stick with 360.
P.S: thanks for clearing my misunderstanding about the steam controller

I should problable note that some people have disagreed with me on the purpose / intention behind the steam controller the last time I mentioned it but on the other hand I have heard quite a few people claim that for them it can't substitute a regular controller.

I agree. As much as I love the SC, and I use it a lot really, I am glad to still have my 360 controller every now and then. You just need two dual sticks for some games. However, it still was a great idea to buy it imho, I have spent so many hours with that thing already, and could play so many games incredibly comfy, I can only recommend it to anyone who does not reject controllers completely:)

Thanks for adding some actual hands-on experience to what I said :) I felt a little guilty giving advice based on hearsay. (I'm still using the 360 controller)

thank you both. I think I'll then buy a nex set of 360 and later get a SC too. Maybe I don't need to swtich to One yet.

I've spent quite some time comparing external mics last weeks.

To make it short:

  • if you can unplug the cable from your headset, you should get the Antlion ModMic4 (built with gaming in mind, good quality).
  • if you cannot, you should compare between the Blue Microphone SnowBall iCe (many streamers and youtubers use higher tiers Blu microphones. they sound really good) and the one i've ordered, the Samson GoMic (which is said to be good as well, super slim and reliable)

i have the steam controller, it really like it, but its not as mindless as the 360 pad where you just plug it and forget about, it requires some configuration, but it has many advantages over a 360, specially the mouse like camera controls, makes playing games on a pad tolerable for me.

Also have a Xbone Pad, the built quality is astonishingly bad already had a trigger broken and a stick go floaty, and as far as i heard its not different on the Piss4 pad.

but how would you compare the quality and ux of the One vs the 360?

my 360 one its 10 years old everything on it works well, only the left analog stick rubber a bit worn down, the plastic is hard and theres no give on any of the buttons or triggers. But i wanted more pads to play with my friends.

the xbox one, intermediately felt the cheaper plastic that is made out of, after a couple of days the left analog stick started moving things on its own, and since i cant modify the dead zone i have to correct it constantly, after a couple of months of use the right trigger gave out, the little plastic stopper, and it is very very little and made out of cheap plastic, broke, i opened it and fixed it myself by gluing a little metal piece. Afther that was enough for me, started looking for other pads like the PS4 controller, but after looking on the internerd the potential problems and seeing piles of them labeled as broken on game stores decided that they were no good either.

The Steam controller its made out of strong plastic, and great assembly, only the triggers and shoulder buttons have different plastic on them, but overall built quality feels good, not perfect tough, my touch pads each have little scratches on them but the work good, certainly better that the xbone. and what sealed it for me was the configuration options, you can do a lot of things with it, from driving with the gyro, to controlling the camera on 3rd person games like a mouse, and it really is precise. this is a great review about it. check this how the steam controller changes games

wow very detailed answer. Thanks you so much. From my understanding the One controller is more advanced but made of cheaper materials than the 360. As someone who plays a lot and especially with a 6 months baby who tends to touch and trhow everyting, I think it's better for me to go with a pair of 360 like know. Anyway I think I'll still buy a One gamepad to give it a try ^_^.
SC definitely made it to my "must-buy" list.

The Xbox One gamepad is a huge improvement over the X360 controller. Mainly the d-pad, the one on the X360 controller is horrible, feels like a stick in the mud. The triggers on the XB1 also operate a bit better and the whole controller is more comfortable to hold although that may vary from person to person.

As for a mouse, i have a really good experience with the Yenkee Hornet YMS 3009. It has extra buttons, DPI range from 400 to 3200 and you can use the software to assign macros or other functions to the mouse buttons. Been using it for 4 years together with a Zalman MP1000 mouse pad and i can't complain.

It's great to have an actual review for the One gamepad.Since the price is not an issue I think I should then get oe and test it (keeping my old 360 set). If I like it more than the 360, I'll buy one more. ^^

Also thanks for your input about the mouse/mouse pad. I'll google them
