Don't want to ruin your giveaway topic, but I'm fairly sure you can use a VPN tunnel through a proxy to activate the game as if you were from the US.

That key is open to more than just the US. I live in New Zealand and was able to activate one. Its Europe and the UK that has problems with that key.
