IMO/experience, foil badges usually look awful, and have the lamest possible names :/
That's the case here, anyway, so no salvation on that front.
Besides, foil prices? Not worth it just for what was an effort to get the one badge I actually wanted, followed by a regrettable lark.

I don't like gaudy, and the text is nonsensical*
(*ed: since this apparently wasn't clear, I mean nonsensical outside of the context of the game. I don't get why anyone would want something like that for general profile use, where I'd assume the phrasing and imagery to be reflective of the character and preferences of the individual- much like clothing choices, IRL.
..and no, I don't 'get' the appeal of oddly specific T-shirts, either.)
Color scheme is nice, though. In sum, wouldn't call it an amazing improvement- though it's at least directly comparable to the normal badges, which is a nice change from the norm.

so if i understand you, you don't like when badge make no sense at all and you don't like when they make sense, and so you don't like when they don't follow a thematic and you don't like when they follow a thematic ?
why would a game make text out side of the game context, why would they promote another game ?? if you craft a badge, it is because you like that game and you want to show it to other for whatever reason. pp who play that game will understand it

But I figured, hey, may as well level it to full, for kicks.
Now all I have access to is the ugly level 5 badge? >_<
