Why switch browsers just for one extension? Seems needless when the link I posted fixes the issue just fine. I have no problem with Google doing this. They are looking out for a majority of their user base that, in all honesty, are not the smartest when it comes to their browsers or computers in general. The rest of us find a way around it, like usual.

try installing any other chrome-like browsers that allow non-store extensions
as far i know iron browser does support them
//edit: nevermind, your issue is already resolved

Chrome + Tampermonkey + SteamGifts Plus Alternative
Also Tampermonkey allows you to install many scripts (Youtube downloaders etc)

I'm sick of Chrome telling me what to do. They've forcibly disabled the SG+ addon because it's not from the Chrome store, and I can't even enable it anymore because of this. Anyone have any advice? Can we have Steam Gifts Plus (or one of the Alternatives etc) become an official Chrome Store addon?
Here's a link showing this new policy: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2811969?p=ui_remove_non_cws_extensions&rd=1&hl=en#
Is this really just a scheme for them to get more business?
