any tips on winning giveaways?

Your chance of winning is simple math.
You entered 167 giveaways, most win only after entering 1000+.

If you want to get higher chances, you can

• create giveaways yourself, gain contribution value and levels, so you can enter higher level giveaways
• read the group recruitments and try to meet their requirements
• solve puzzles and find hidden giveaways

Edit: Assuming you entered only public giveaways with 1000 entries, you chances to have won something after 167 giveaways is about 15%.

I for example have won ~1.06% of all the giveaways I have entered, so good luck.

Check out Unlucky-7 and playing appreciated. Read the requirements on the forum group page and join these groups. You can also find GAs in the forum. If you make a small giveaway, it will get you to level 1 which also increases your chances. But make up your mind if you really want to play the games you try to win.

Read the steamgifts FAQ and guidelines to stay away from trouble if you haven´t already.

I have won ~0,24% of all the GAs i have entered. And i only finished 50% of them so far to be honest.

When the Giveaway you want is about to end (last 1 minute or so, longer better withing 5 minutes), Google Gaben's picture and stare at it (With your best smile of course). If he smiles back, your win rate will increase dramatically. It works!!

I haven't won anything for a year and eight months, got my first win after around 1700 entries (a year) if I remember correctly, and got 7 games for 7600 entries (4 of them were group/private giveaways with 4 to 383 entries). Oh, and stats say that I'm unlucky and that I should have won 4 games more (so I've won 7*100/11 = 63% of the games I should have won).

If you are picky with your entries, are in few/no Steam groups, have not a high SteamGifts level and probably not whitelisted by thousands of members and don't enter private giveaways, you have to be prepared to get very few games here.

If you really want to get more/lots of games, you can start to giveaway to increase a little bit your level, be nice to maybe get whitelisted by some members, join some Steam groups (like Unlucky-7, Playing appreciated as Digge said above), read the topics to enter some private giveaways. And if you are desperate, you can also enter the giveways that give 20 000 copies of games than no one would play for 50-100% win.

Have luck and be patient. Also create some giveaways so you level up and get access to more giveaways nut that's optional.

It's all about RNG. Some people get wins on their first day and some don't. Give it about a month and 1K plus entries and then come back and ask this same question.

Two weeks and 167 entries is not too much time to complain. Some people here are luckier than others, yes. But it does happen.

And then there are others that go stretches between wins. Some users here have gone a year or more between winning. I've gone two months between wins at times. So it won't happen all the time. Try entering smaller GA's. Not wishlist only ones. Just NEVER go into a GA thinking you will win. No expectations, no disappointment.

Don't expect to win what you enter for, be pleasantly surprised when it eventually does happen. Its all up to RNG as everyone said but you can enter more exclusive giveaways (higher level and group giveaways) to improve your chances.

Just checked mine and noticed I only won 49 games and entered 15.9k giveaways now, in total I only have won 0.308% of them, so dont give up!II (I only enter level 0 giveaways too)

Keep trying and you will win. If you do not maximize your odds as suggested by Oppenh4imer, then you will need to enter more GAs to win.

I will tell you a secret. When you enter the giveaway, you can see the number of current participants. You need to be there right when the giveaway is created, and you need to be 16th or 17th entrant. That increase chances to win tremendously. Good luck!
