so every month I get a choice of which Humble Bundle games to pick. obviously first I go through and pick any that I want for myself, but there's usually some choices left and I tend to just randomly pick a few to make giveaways for
I'm sure we've a lot of subscribers here and I started to wonder how others chose which games to give

I'm rather uncertain how best to decide

i try to find new stuff or something that looks interesting or unique to giveaway i dont look at the comunity list per sé personally. Which makes it even more fun for me when i see a game being given away by other people i never heard of and adding it to my wishlist or entering that giveaway :)

Randomly sometimes. Or sometimes the ones I think sound more interesting

If i want to give away something i pick often by genres.
As example, platformers are very liked from a lot and i don't like them, so a great combination because i am nearly never tempted to take that games for myself :-D

Besides that is it of course important at which palce i give it away, in a HOG group i try to pick a HOG, if the people are important for me that have access to the GA(s) i try to pick higher priced/better games and sometimes the things that i like myself because i want that people have so much fun with the game(s) as i.

In the end is your question hard to answer but i hope all the answers in the thread help you a bit :o)

There is no real science or logic behind my decisions. I obviously keep the wishlisted titles.
Then I tend to give away genres that rarely interest me, like puzzles or most pure multiplayer titles. And I don't bother about games with low ratings, unless they are totally my type of game. The rest is just a matter of appeal.

Examples:

February 21
Keep: Outward, Valkyria Chronicles 4 Complete Edition, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, Valfaris, Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart of the Forest, Lovecraft's Untold Stories
Give away: Endless Space® 2 (because I already own it), Moving Out, The Wild Eight, Train Station Renovation, Iris and the giant (because I won it here :p), Boomerang Fu

March 21 bundle.
Keep: Control Ultimate Edition, ELEX, Kingdom Two Crowns, Hotshot Racing, Cyber Hook, Wildfire
Give away: XCOM: Chimera Squad, WWE 2K BATTLEGROUNDS, Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, Pesterquest, Boreal Blade, Ageless

If are you not sure and have too many games to play, giveaway games you are not interested in. You can read steam reviews or watch You tube reviews. If you prefer to play shorter games, search on How Long to Beat.

Also, I try to giveaway games that will result in 5 people entering and CV.

I look at the genres of the games. I have a sense of which genres I have no interest in such as platformers, puzzles (as the main gameplay), and RTS. There after, I look at some gameplay videos for the games that look fun to play.

Whatever games I already own or have no interest in playing in.

As for choices... I guess so far I'm just lucky enough that classic subs get all the available choices, though I do regularly skip a month if there aren't at least 2-3 games I'm interested in.

Simple: since HB policy forbids buyer from making giveaways, I've stopped buying from them. I buy from resellers / group buys instead, only the games I want : cheaper for me, less sales for HB, it's a "I win and I frak them" situation from my point of view.
There are tons of online shops where you can buy games for GAs, avoiding humble swindle is the best course in my opinion.

I usually check the groups I make GA's for to see which of the games are highest on their wishlist, if there are still some spots left then I check the genereal wishlist and go from there.
