Bump! Sorry to hear that, losing a pet sucks big time. I know it doesn't help you right now but the pain will get less over time.

I never had a bird as a pet so I don't know if he/she will come back home when it gets hungry, I had to google what a budgerigar is but yeah it's a small bird so looking for it will prolly be pointless. Leave the cage with food in it on the balcony and keep an eye on it that's all you can do I guess.

sorry to hear that.
i had 2 "pet" birds when i was a kid, and both flew away when they had the chance to escape.

i suppose it means birds aren't supposed to live caged. it's pretty miserable.

Hopefully, by putting the bird cage outside he will come back to it.

happy easter. sad to ear. hard to say but lets hope that those 6 years lived in captivity does not prevent him to survive and to adapt alone in the wild.

So sad... I had a cat run away twice last year... First time I managed to catch it, second time not....
Hopefully he will be happy with his new freedom!

I have 3 pet bird before, cute hyper lory, 2 stolen, 1 run away TT.TT
If I have another, maybe I try trained it to roam around house without chain/cage...

Some pets are known to return to their owner after a prolonged time...maybe you could keep the cage open for some time at the right place

I feel bad that you feel awful, but I would be nice to hope that he is living a bird's life :)
