This is basically what I immediately thought is gonna happen once I saw the title of your thread... Well, in all truth, I actually thought of a certain type of people feeling invited to shitpost (again) and such, but this ain't far from it either.

I hope so too since I was always for quality and not quantity.

I recommend checking the FAQ, most common questions about how the site works are answered there:

Seeing as you are new here, welcome to SG.
If you haven't already, please read the ToS, FAQ and Guidelines of this site to avoid rookie mistakes.

FYI, from the Guidelines:
Avoid using link shorteners, as they obscure the destination of the link, making it difficult for users to know what they're clicking.

As Trent just reminded everyone, please avoid using link shorteners.

But reeeally, is let me google that for you a link shortener?
Comment has been collapsed.
The link is fine as it is right now. It would also be fine to rename it with a tag as long as the mouseover shows the actual link. However, using a bitly link (or other shortener) hides the actual URL, so that is to be avoided. I understand that sometimes people want to "surprise" the person following the link (like this), but the overall effect is conveyed without a shortener.
(Yes, yes, I know.... Naughty Mod....)

That's one reason I use an ad-blocker. Still, that's a bummer. (

haha the community here is really active , welcome to steam gifts, you can giveaway any extra games you may have and enter for games that others giveaway, the points system used is that each game's price is converted 1:1 to points (in dollars) and points refill everyday , giving away gifts earns you contributor levels or CV which can be used to enter giveaways at higher CV levels, people create CV restricted giveaways to reward other people like them who actively give away games. The Discussions allow people to create discussions about things community might be interested in discussing , it's really active and there a lovely people here.

No, but newbies and their threads attract a lot of trolling.
There is a FAQ that tells everything, but the jist of it: it is a raffle site where people put up Steam keys as prizes. You spent slowly self-replenishing points to enter, and they are infinite. It is a tombola, so everyone gets one ticket and chances can be as low as 1:30000, but points are free.
You can also put up prizes as long as you can deliver them. Depending on their status, they give zero to any amount of contributor value, which is used to measure your contribution in the form of levels. Levelling is mostly e-penis, since there is minimal actual advantage in doing it beyond altruism and elitism.

Welcome, @PAzura! I hope you enjoy your time here!
The community here is wonderful, and in my experience, I find that
1) having a sense of humor, (especially one that allows you to make/take jokes about yourself or see jokes played on you as funny, not embarrassing or humiliating), and/or
2) being ready to not take everything people say too seriously (being lighthearted; not being upset by trolling) (this goes hand-in-hand with #1), as well as
3) not being easily offended/not being offended over the small stuff
tremendously helps with my community spirit. It allows me to overlook trolling, or find some of it funny (if done well).
That being said, there are times where humor is inappropriate, and I should be serious. ;-)
(Some might find this post entirely on the wrong track, and their experience may vary, but this is my limited observation.)

Why would you register for a website you know nothing about?
Food for thought....

Not the best analogy. Columbus knew there was a world there, and he knew about the place to which he was trying to travel. He just got lost while trying to find a shortcut.
Signing up to a site without knowing anything about it is more like filling out an informational sign up sheet without knowing that for which you are applying. You have no idea what rules you just agreed to follow, nor what you will be required to do, nor what promises you have made by registering. Singing a contract without first reading it is a very bad habit.

Sort of like The Order when it attacked Mr. Hamill in Episode VIII. A glorious blaze of firepower, but still missed the Mark. )

i've added you to my whitelist and still i'm puzzled about you being german but having italian names and things on your profiles, and it's a really strange nickname since it's feminine and i've never seen anyone called like this ahah plus it has another meaning in my region (in northern italy) besides of the normal translation (vecchia = alte Frau in Ita)
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah your italian is perfect!! =) way better than mine (my grandma was born in Tyrol, but I don't even know how to speak Deutsch ç_ç)
but now I know that you aren't Italian xD That nickname/profile was puzzling :P
"vecchia" as it's put means actually only the feminine of "old" but if you say "vecchia" it's implied that you're talking about a "vecchia" (which means old lady, alte Frau, I mean, an old woman xD), that was the strange point to me as a northern italian ahah =P
plus here as I was saying vecchia also means Kakerlake / Schabe (read here the 7th line http://ricerca.repubblica.it/repubblica/archivio/repubblica/2014/06/17/memorie-di-uno-scarafaggio-alla-conquista-del-mondo58.html probably it's something used only in northern italy idk xD) and it's even weirder but still.. thanks for the chat and have a great weekend =P

Welcome to Steamgifts, PAzura.
Since everyone already mentioned the FAQ/Guidelines, I'll just reiterate that while it isn't mandatory to do so, you should treat it as such. Too many people get into trouble on this website because they weren't aware of the various rules, and the FAQ will also help you understand what the website is and how exactly it works.
If you need any additional help or have questions that you can't find the answer or don't understand the answer in the FAQ, feel free to add me on Steam so I can help.
