Likely $4.99 is a minimum they are able/willing to accept for BTA games (so not really an average), and the rest was yeah just people actually buying it and some actual average computation kicking in. When I saw it somehwere near the beginning of a happy hour, it was $5.77

this - $4.99 is a fixed minimum, not the actual average (at least imo).
just do the maths yourself - you see the total payments and #purchases at the bottom, e.g. right now:
Total payments: $66910.89
Purchases #: 15337
Average Purchase: ( Happy Gifts not taken into account ) $4.99
that'd only make up an average of ~$4.36

The 4.99 average is fixed for sure, and it is feasible that it went up in a legit way because a lot of people started buying the whole package only then, so that they could get 4-packs and whatnot (I did the same too).

No I didn't notice that yesterday, I noticed it months ago. It's quite obvious that IG has been fixing the average price for essentially every bundle.
If you consider the fact that they offer the Happy Hour, they are still the cheapest bundle to BTA and get all the games so I can't complain. I've got every single IG BTA, yet I've skipped out on HIB BTA and IR completely before.

For all the games they're including, I think they should up the average price. The fact that so many people want to game the system and pay only $1 is a disgrace. Look at all the comments on the Be Mine 5 thread, where people are drooling over what they can get for $1 with no intention whatsoever of paying even the average. It's a little sad.
That said, I do agree that the ethics of how Indie Gala is doing this is wrong. I think they and other bundle organizers should increase their minimums.

Before the happy hour, the price for the beat the average bundle was $4.99.
During the happy hour it suddenly went up to almost $7. ($6.57)
And once the happy hour ended, the price went back down to $4.99
That average of 4.99 seems pretty fixed.
I don't know, but to me that seems a tad bit gimicky, they knew more people would buy the bundle during the happy hour, so why not higher up the price?
