I really do believe that your posts are useful, but EIGHT DAYS before it actually starts - that is just "too soon", it will get buried, and serve no purpose until it actually starts (and then people will still have 3 days to claim it)
Suggestion: make an empty discussion, and immediately close it. Write it down, make some sort of memo for ~ a day before the deal starts, open and bump it. You still can work on it, and it won't push down current deals. Also if this post is not visible it's so far down, days before it starts, then what is the point of it being up so early?

I would listen to Tzaar's advice of "Don't let it get to you, man."
Turns out that you did it well, just people bumped it early, and others got angry at you. You can avoid that and take control back if you follow my advice (you can close a topic by clicking on the green open button and change it, later open it the same way, in case it's new info)
( now I understood why you mentioned a guy bumping your topics, then complaining about it being on top...)
