But he still have 4 days to activate it and confirm. Some people have their lifes: go to work, school, maybe he have no time for checking SG right now. I would just wait, start worrying when 7 days pass.
And you saying that he was online on steam, but if he have autostart it might be his brother/mother/father just browsing a internet, think about it ;)

He don't entered on SteamGifts since 3 days ago, but it was online on Steam about 2 hours ago and i can't send him a friend request, i don't know why.
