So, I'm thinking about getting a new laptop really soon, and I've been doing some searching and all that, and I've found 2 laptops that might be suitable for what I want.

I want a "cheap" laptop that can run newer games on medium settings, so a dedicated gfx is a must, and I've been trying to find a laptop with a 640M. As for RAM, 4GB minimum. HDD at least 500gb and as for CPU i5-3210.

With these settings, I've found:

Acer (15.6"):
i5-3210
1TB HDD
4GB RAM
GeForce 640M

DELL (14"):
i5-3230
750Gb HDD
6GB RAM
GeForce 640M

Now, what I want to know is: Will I be able to run newer games with this computer with decent FPS?
And what's the difference in performance between those two? The DELL is slightly better, but has a smaller screen and HDD... And I'm not sure if the difference in CPU and RAM is worth the difference in size. If I'm just going to get an extra FPS or two... then I'll probably stick with the Acer.

Any other suggestions for a decent laptop? Maybe using AMD CPU/GPU?

Considering that the Dell may be a little better (it has a smaller screen so the resolution will be more condensed, and thus, have a higher PPI), it may be nicer to go with the DELL. (Depending on the type of screen. What are the full specs for the two?)

Basically, between those two, just decide what size screen you want. What's the price difference?

It's about the same, there's a $12 difference... it's not much.

Well, I would need to see some specs for the laptops; that way, I could see some more differences and help a bit more.

And for the life of me, I can't find them. Can you provide links to where you found the laptops or are they old/not advertised?

I think I found the Acer or this but I could be wrong

Acer: V3-571G-53214G1TMakk Chinese site

... As for the dell, I'm not quite sure, because I would be buying from a friend that works at the DELL shop here

Well, if they're the same (like exact, even down to the screen type), then get the Dell for portability or the Acer for more stationary use (for the bigger screen). You might also want to consider battery life.

If one has a glass screen and one has an LCD, you can decide between them based on how much sunlight you will use it under. If there's a lot of sunlight where you would tend to use it, I would prefer a non-glass screen as they will show a lot of glare.

They should both run most games fairly well. I'm using a laptop at the moment for gaming, i5-2410m, 6GB Ram, 750 GB HDD space (2 drives), nVidia GT520 M and it runs most games at around medium settings with reasonable frame rate.

Stick with the Acer, you should be able to run most of the new games on medium.

Acer is not good company, don't buy HP and Acer laptops, they're most cheap and Acer pre installed software may lag your OS and their laptops tend to break a lot. Dell is a decent company or Asus, Sony, MSI too.

In my opinion, Sony makes low-budget laptops but sells them for premium prices =/

You never said what your budget was.

Looking at the Acer, it seems that the budget or preferred price would be under $800.

Wait a few months longer. Now it's basically the shittiest time to buy a new laptop. Intel's gonna release their 4th generation Cpus in a few weeks, which means that all the old generation's laptops are going to get cheaper as they're right now.
