Do we have still benefits from gift trades?

I do not know about you, but for me some games is simply cheaper to buy from steam when is on discount than trade for it.
Like The Walking Dead 1 or 2 minimu price for gift on trades is 4 tf2 / 8€ keys but on steam with discount is less then 6€
So i dont see point of paying more then u can get it from steam
Gabe have managed to destroy every chance to get a cheaper steam gift game.. :(

a lot of my games I got through trades many of them much less than they are worth
