Hey guys,

I've just started a group for people to join who are interested in following my reviews that I write for games on Steam. I personally think the "funny" review community is really immature so I took it upon myself to try give a little bit something back to the community by writing simple but detailed reviews for the games I finish.

If you are interested in joining, here is a link - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TeamTomsReviews

Whilst you are at it, you may as well also join the give away for a copy of Alien Isolation, here http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/OB57O/alien-isolation - but you do need to be a member of the group first :)

thanks good luck, before dissmising most of steam reviews it would interesting to try to understand why they are so popular or why so many people make them, writhed reviews are becoming rarer these days, and there are reasons behind that too. Good luck.

Really? Unrelated to this current thread, but in general I feel like as if everybody wants a curator page nowadays since it can get them "followers".

i have seen people saying that they want to be curators, but it seems that whenever i check for reviews most of them specially the negative ones are complaints about the publisher or just simply complaining about the game without giving any information or explanation, dunno, it just seems that the amount of people doing serious reviews gets drowned in the sea of stupidity. And also not everyone that starts a group because they want to be a curator sticks with it.

And lets not forget the whole duck network... you can't trust any of those reviews either

Like i said... it might just be my perception or maybe just unlucky with the games i've checked :D

Could be. I don't know. I only have a few reviewers on my friend list (had Tom too, but I was removed eventually) and they generally tend to do in-depth ones. (I always limit myself to 2000 characters, but many reviewers like to write for the wall or a curator page, with no limits apart from Steam's.) Even game pages nowadays seem to tend to downvote the joke/troll/too generic ones and try to keep the informative ones on top.
