Seems like there are quite a few people out there who think that if they press Received, that means that they received the game. Which they did. I know that activating the game is obligatory by rules, but renaming the button to Activated would have a better psyhological effect on people who planned to regift it as they would not be able to give excuses. And for those people who didn't know about the rules, this would remind them that they need to activate the game.
I think this would lower the number of regifts and it's a pretty simple fix as well. You guys think this is a good idea?

Is this a good idea?

Nah

The idea is not bad but I doubt it would change anything. You can't make people read if they don't want it...

Yes, it would greatly help new users realize and learn they should not win same game twice and have to activate each wins.

better idea:

it would be much easier (coding) and effectiv if they add the rule text above user winning list... most user don't read rules but most of them will read the line if marked red and above the winning list...

"Won gifts should be activated to the Steam account used during registration, and they should not be regifted, traded, or sold.
Ignoring this rule will lead to a suspension."

but take the words in ToS instead of "should" be activated ToS says they "must"

any Gift you receive is for personal use, and must be activated, or redeemed by the Steam ID associated with your SteamGifts.com account.

yep that or the one from the FAQ :

You should only enter to win giveaways for yourself, and if you win a game, it must be activated and redeemed to the Steam account used during registration.

you are right... this should^^ be changed too... :)

the first one is just one code line and the second one just a word... seems chances are good we could get a change... the idea from TempeteJoachim sounds good too...

yeah either one of them with the "must" in it. it seems and sounds minor, but people will still pull the "it only said i should, not that i had too" crap card later if it doesn't.

Seems like a decent idea. Makes things easier on the mind.

And why indeed should we take the complex road when everything can be done more user friendly?
