Id say check newegg.com , usually good prices and a wide range of stuff.

Search ebay or amazon for xbox 360 PDP Afterglow controller, it is cheaper than the original with pc adapter and they look pretty cool. But watch out for those Chinese replicas.

I'd never buy one used by unless I personally knew the seller or it was sold with a warranty (trade-in at a major retailer) as ive found the cables to be really poor quality on them. I'm not a fan of wireless peripherals but im seriously considering switching for my next controller.

Do you have PB Tech where you live? If so, check them.

I got one from Amazon, I saw Xbox One controllers for 30-35€ in Amazon DE, for 40€ in Amazon ES or more, and around hat price in Amazon FR, you might want to see where is the cheapest price + shipping or wait for offers. I bought an Xbox One controller with cable for 45€ last year on Amazon ES, but i feel that was kinda little high price, you may find cheaper.

Ebay? Amazon? For ~$60 plus shipping, you can get a decent genuine one if I recall correctly.

I think I got mine for like, $30 at a nearby store. The right stick fucked up pretty quickly, but it was super easy and cheap to replace by myself.

I have a third party Xbox One controller and it started breaking within 3-4 months of purchase. I've had my official Xbox 360 controller for over 2 and a half years now and it still works perfectly. I'd recommend buying a first party controller, since they are high quality and will last a long time.

Controllers are generally very fixable though, if you have the knowledge/tools. :P

Even if you get a knockoff you may need to get the Xbox 360 controller driver from the Microsoft website. The MS driver either doesn't know or doesn't care about it being a knockoff. You probably know that the Xbox One controller is different and has its own driver. I would suggest the 360 controller for better support from games.

If you want as cheap as possible just get one from China, it might take a few weeks to arrive. Like this one for €8,46 and free shipping to Spain: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1pcs-USB-Wired-Joypad-Gamepad-white-Controller-For-Microsoft-for-Xbox-Slim-for-360-PC-for/32688277578.html
Otherwise for authentic try to find a store in your country. Microsoft usually controls prices rather tightly so it shouldn't be too different between most places for new condition, but maybe delivery fees or taxes might vary. If you can find one that is used it could be much cheaper. Good luck :)

i like the logitech f310 controller. not sure where's the best place to get it for you, but here are a few options that work for the US:

As people have said, you can just get a Logitech FXXX gamepad. Those are both XInput (which make them "Xbox controllers") and DirectInput.
And they aren't "knockoffs" since Logitech has been in the PC game forever. I would say if you really want an XB-type gamepad for PC, get an actual Xbox one or get a Logitech. Nothing else.
I've had several Logitech gamepads over the years and other than getting a short in the wiring from tripping over the cords again and again for some sad reason, they've been fine.
But you will be able to get the wired one somewhat significantly cheaper than the wireless one, if that's price is that important.
My Logitech Dual Action gamepad (which doesn't have XInput) still works, but I got a Steam Controller anyway.
You have no interest in a Steam Controller?

Too bad. It's worth it for $35, especially compared to anything else that is wireless.
