Have you ever bought a game that turn into a permanent F2P ?
Yes, but without a ':(' emoji, a game going f2p is usually good news, more fresh meat to slay.

What was it name... um... was fun coop but they made it unballanced and asked for too much money AND marketing made it sound like Overwatch even if it was completely different thing... oh yeah, Battleborn.

I bought Fall Guys two times (for me and a friend (full price T_T ), Rocket League and Overwatch? (dont know if it counts now :P)
I saw the other reply and remember I bought Battleborn for 5€ too.

For overwatch i have say yes because now that exactly the same if you have paid or not the game (same launcher, battle.net), but for Fall Guys and Rocket League people that i have paid the game still have the posibility to choice there launcher (the Steam one).
After that only my own interpretation.

Guild wars 2. I bought it when it came out and as a physical copy, and quit when it went F2P. The gold sellers and bots, the world chat became insanely busy. I couldn't stand it and took a break which ended up with me never coming back. I tried to log in again, but everything was so different It felt like a new game, so I left. That, and Lions Arch new look disgusted me.

I also paid for GW2 (digital deluxe or whatever) when it first launched, and had zero disappointment about it becoming free-to-play. It's an amazing game and I'm happy that others can play the base game and LS1 for free. I had actually forgotten about the gold sellers; I haven't seen one in years.

PUBG, but not bothered by it since I didn't even play it that much.
Bought it cause of the hype and FOMO back then, lesson learned!

CSGO. Most of my playtime was spent before it went F2P though, so I can't say it was money wasted or anything.
I also got Hammerfight in one of the very early Humble Bundles. It went permanently free in 2019, but it doesn't have microtransactions or anything like that. It's a nice, unorthodox game as well, but very janky. I can recommend it for a unique experience.

Yep, "Evolve" (now its called - Evolve Stage 2). Bought it twice for full price: first time after I played a day of closed beta - its was like "shout up and take my money".
And the second time was like a several days later, after the devs added to Steam page of the game a complete edition (yeah, thous old good time when it really WAS complete edition with all future possible DLC): Evolve PC Monster Race Pre-Purchase. Since there was not a possibility for an upgrade of the game version, so the only way for me was to ask Steam support to delete the game from my account and to buy it again as full edition.
And I dont regret it, it was worth every cent. To bad the publisher ruined the game later with too strict rules for devs with adding patches like only 1 time per 3-6 mounths (at least as i heard it was like that).

I still play Evolve. (you have old Evolve, known as Legacy Evolve and the newer Evolve Stage 2, both versions are separate but playable)
Join Evolve Reunited Discord Server if interested.

Fall Guys, Team Fortress 2, Postal and Awesomenauts are some paid to FTP games I know of having before they went free. I am perfectly fine with the change to free, except for Fall Guys. It should have started out free to play, because all the microtransactions make it a mess.

Mimpi Dreams is a cute and inexpensive game. I bought it, and then this part became free. By the way, I recommend playing it 😊
Well, there was also a funny case on the SG - I won the Go Go Nippon game, and a week later it was distributed for free ^^

I honestly never thought CS-GO would go F2P, It's one of those must have games on Steam.

they made it free so more people will play it and spend money on knives and boxes or whatever it is you can buy on there, idk i've never played it. it's basically free money. same with tf2 keys and its giant market. that's why the f2p model can be so lucrative.

Not exactly "bought", but back when I used to play The Lord of the Rings Online, it switched from a subscription model to a free to play model about a year or so after I started playing it. Guild Wars 2 was not free to play when I quit, but it did go free to play later and I did buy it at full price, one of the more expensive versions at that.
In recent years/Steam games, no. I haven't bought any Steam games that went free.

I think one of them was Defiance, and another one was Wildstar (it even had subscription... the servers closed years ago); I got for both physical collector editions at that time...

It was the main reason I made a Steam account in the first place (cough "cracking" TF2 needed a Steam account, though it was kind of a bogus crack cough). And then the Orange Box (TF2, Portal and all of Half-Life 2) was the first thing I actually bought on Steam (about two and half years later... ^_^' ).

Rocket League, Fall Guys, CS:GO, PUBG, GuildWars2, Overwatch, Destiny 2 that i got free when purchased my PC... I'm sure i'm missing lot more.

Death Skid Marks, CSGO, Rocket League, Crusader Kings 2 from the ones I remember. Probably a few more that I don't remember.

One year ago, during a game exchange with a friend, i have bought him a game on steam (Idle Slayer), and one month ago the game turn into a permanent F2P ...
So want to know if that thing happen to someone else, the game could be for you / for familly / for a friend / whatever ... but must have turn into a permanent F2P (100 % discount during a limited time like Titan Quest Anniversary Edition or ARK: Survival Evolved do not count)
(Also, game that steam version have been removed and a unique F2P edition have appear on Epic do not count (i think about Rocket League and Fall Guys))
